im the guy who smiles to everyone in the hallways, streets, whatever, i say hi and everyone always talks to me- flirts with me etc etc
but the problem is that i have developed a GIANT crush on this very shy girl, shes pretty as well, which is odd, but for some reason my social shyness goes through the roof and i can smile at her as she walks past and she often waves to me- but seriously, its really annoying!
she is always surrounded by her close ,small circle of friends and even though i am friends with them, i cant speak to her alone
she laughs at all my jokes and touches her hair while she is around me, major IOIs

how the frick do i ask her out, get her on her own? especially when i am shitting my self??

if your getting her laughing thats probably the best time to get her number so if her friends are around then try find an excuse or create an excuse to get it or if you cant do it get one of her mates numbers and work it from there .
Try and calibrate what type of girl she is ,is she the sexual type or a christian type, does she have heaps of guyfriends or only dated one/ none does she peacock or is she modest does she want a fantastical career like an actor or is she doing a more realistic job or course, does she laugh at your sick dirty jokes or basic quirky harmless type jokes.Listening and calibrating what type of bird she is will help you not put your foot in it.
