Posts: 167 | | Get a retail job. Work at a Gas Station, Convenience store etc(only if your best option is one of these minimium wage jobs). Those jobs helped me so much with shyness, when I started my boss said "You need to be more friendlier", not too long after I was talking with everyone. Getting a job like this, will force you into conversation, and you will naturally become better. It's made a huge difference for me.

Posts: 69 | | This is awesome advice, you're basically forced to talk to customers. You can tell which ones give off a friendly aura and which ones just look like they won't talk no matter what. I study the behaviors of the ones who look friendly and attempt to mimic them so it makes my targets feel more relaxed.

Posts: 167 | | Exactly. While I don't really recommend picking up at work(although Ive done it). You can pick up on some serious IOI's from female customers. Also, if you know guys that get ladies, talk to them and you will pick up stuff from them(Im not saying ask them how they do it, just pay attention to their mannerisms).
In sociology we call that the differential association theory(I believe this should transfer to psych as well).
