I have huge problem. I dual enroll (take first 2 years of high school at a community college) and I am starting to lose my friends. We are starting to do stuff in different groups and we are becoming distanced. These guys were the best friends I could of asked for. For the past few years, I was clinically depressed, and came very close to suicide many times. Then, in was put on meds for it, and became addicted to the meds. That produced even more problems, but this summer I kind of cleared everything up in my life. Though I kept this matter secret from them, the friendship we had felt like it gave me something to live for. Hell, if it wasn't for them, I would probably be dead; the thought that I had them there kept me going. Now that we go to different schools, I don't see them that much and I am worried about losing our friendship. Also, I don't have any other "Bros" besides them. I have non attractive girl friends to hang with but no real "brothers" besides them. As of lately, they have been.... different. Not really bad or anything, just really, really different. I realize that we might go our separate ways, but I miss all the awesome time I spent with them. Should I try to stay friends with them or should I go my separate way and find new guy friends? Also, if we start hanging out again I would like to tell them about what has been happening the past few years. My behavior was a lot different and they noticed it. I pretty much am over it, but I would like to tell them why I was acting different. Would that be a bad choice? Sorry if my grammer is bad.

In my opinion, you don't owe your friends an explaination because at this age
everyone is searching for himself. The fact they notice a change in you says that you are not normal or different from them.By telling them you had a mental breakdown will scare the hell out of them. There is a taboo about mental illness.

Most likely you will go on to university and so the bonds of friendship are likely
to be broken. This is natural so make new friends and don't tell them of your past
either.Try to settle back to normalcy.Much is about brain chemistry imbalance
so take care of your dietery habits.Excercise and get some sun if you can. This will lift you out of depression if it still lingers. Good luck .
