I am a musician in Nashville. I have a new cd that we are about to launch. I need to get my site updated so we can sell it online. I would like to update the site to match the vibe of the cd art. The band has an old school rock feel, so think 60's psychedelic rock posters. Stuff like that. Should be pretty simple as I just need a news page, gigs page, pictures page, media page, and someway to sell cds and tshirts. I also have some graphic design skills, so if you wanted to do some of it and pass it off to me to finish for you I could do that too. I would then need your help to get it up on the net though. I'm open to doing whatever I need to to make this happen. There will be some compensation, but I don't have a ton of money as I just moved to town. I need someone who would be open to some barting. I have a variety of things I can offer. If you have some stuff you would like recorded, I could do that. If you want guitar lessons I could do that. I also have a really unique option. How is your love life? If it's either non existent, pathetic, sparse, decent, great, or anywhere in between you might dig this. I am also a dating coach. I can teach you how to meet the beautiful women you don't have the balls to talk to. If you're a woman, I can also help you meet the tall, dark, handsome man. If you're in a relationship, I can give you some very good pointers to make sure things don't get boring. Keeping the spice is very important to a long and healthy relationship. If none of these options sound appealing, I am open to suggestions. Please let me know if this is something you would be remotely interested in and we'll go from there to make it work for both of us! Thanks in advance.

Hey Jeff,

This is Jon S. aka JSmooth aka NashvilleDatingCoach.com I was unaware that there was another dating coach in the city. It's good to meet you assuming I haven't met you before in some way Jeff. Shoot me a message because I'd like to chat with you a bit about business and idealogy about things.

Jon

i am a musician myself from the music side I would say 2 things you don`t need
1.a website
and
2. cd`s
I will explain why having a website is great but will anyone be on there the better opion is the social networking sites a lot of people are on there you may need to spend some time add friends but there are people who are on there you can still do the website stuff like gigs and biogs but you are using something that will be visted, this what everyband does even the big bands have a social networking page up.
The Cd is a dying format that best thing is to create mp3`s (there is free software to do that if you look) there are companys such as tunecore who will charge a one of admin fee to put you on itunes, napster etc there the songs are up there for a long time and can be bought any time, meaning that after you have recouped the
adim fee everything else is pure proffit and you don`t having to keep making cd`s when ever you run out. you can sell your cd`s at gigs

I think a website is a MUST.

Sure, social networking is HOT right now and is a great way to market your band AND your site. Have you seen any serious band that does NOT have a website in 2009? No, you haven't... a websites means you are actually serious about what you do. Of course it is important to have a Facebook/Myspace/Twitter accounts as well.

I agree with the point that selling CD's should not be the main goal. You can sell songs by simply using SPAM, you can sell them on iTunes - all in digital format of course. If you are willing to spend your time packaging and shipping CD's to each cutomer - then why not?

p.s. You could check out guru.com, elance.com and a few other freelancer sites where you could find people that will do the job for little money.

Good Luck,

Alex
