So yesterday in chat a few of us where discussing combined chat programs, which allow someone to log in and use all thier chat programs (AIM, msn im, google, yahoo, etc) within one program.

I did a little research last night and found a few intresting things.

I found a few major programs for this. Trillian, Pidgin, Miranda.

They are all limited in thier features but they give you all of the general options/features of the parent programs and allow you to easily use many chat services together.

I have only tried pidgin so far, and it has a very generic feel to it compared to AIM...i dont like it much but if i found myself with 3 chat programs open id probably use it.

I tried trillian years ago and liked it ok, but idk how it is now. Miranda looked the most basic of all 3.

So give em a try if you find yourself in need of such a program, but if your using just on chat program primarily then just stick to the parent program.

I have trillion right now. It's great in a sense of it's better than having 3 different messengers running, but other than that I don't have anything good to say about it. File sharing sucks and my user preferences don't work. So, I'd try a different service over trillion, I think I'm going to have to.

Use trillian, dont ever use aim its like a virus to your computer lol... If you start it once and tell it to never run while your computer boots up it will anyway, you have to disable it in msconfig, and it resets every time u use it again, its seriously fuxed!
