I do bar security for this bar and the workers keep harassing me. The bar is apart of a chain of bars and I worked at the other version of this bar last year for about 5 months but left because they were really hostile and the managers were unprofessional and cliquey.

The douche manager didn't like me and the bartender blue it out of proportion and one of the workers turned up at my new job and slandered on my first day. At the old one they kept slapping me on my arm and then when I looked at them like WTF they wouldn't make conversation. When I started working this one they started doing this but I ignored and really did a good job both ignoring them and now many months later are being hostile.

One worker has his wife working there and she keeps questioning me and watching me and speaking rude. She acts like she is the queen, her boyfriend is supervisor but acts like he's the manager and they all are cliquey with everyone. I keep calm and move on from their rudeness yet they talk about me and even throw bits of fruit at me pretending to be aiming for the bin. I feel frustrated and I already feel like I'm going to snap.

I'm not fearless of arguments or standing up to people but they feel more in power because of the numbers. The agency who sends me there are friends with some of the people here, complaining would be pointless. The agency boss is cool but doesn't have many other bars. I'm sick of the franchise, and it's rumours and gossip.

I mean no disrespect by this, but are you weak bro? I mean that physically and mentally. People pick on weak people, people that dont show strength. How are your social skills as well? You come to this place to complain about how youre fed up with just taking it. Do you have any friends, real ones?

1st off, if you dont want people messing with you physically, hit the gym. 2nd, make some effort. If you are no good at the job, try to get better or quit. Never stay 'average' just to keep your head down, you need to surpass standards. If they cant respect you as a person, they can at least respect that you are damn good at your job.

Remember that you cant change other people, You can only change yourself. So are you going to continue to take it or do something about it?

My view on this is sarge every girl that has a boyfriend that disrespects you.

Unless you are worried about getting messed up by the guys that is.

Either way, grow a pair and stand up for yourself. If it means you sacrifice your job, so be it. You work security, aren't you supposed be a little tougher than that. They are all immature playing little games. Be the bigger man, and show their girls that you are the bigger man. Girls like men not boys.

Trust me I've been doing my best and no I'm not physically weak. I'm 6 feet 5 bit of weight on me but my arms are not huge or anything. I keep myself to myself, but joke about when the time comes to it. I've stood for myself in many situations, but whatever they see in me they think they can annoy me. Mentally, I'm cold....they literally won't know what I'm thinking and I've been through alot.

I can easily stick it out but I'd rather just not have to deal with a group of people disrespecting me randomly. Like the supervisor came telling me as soon as I got here that the other security guy could no long do a certain day because of his studies and I said I could do that day and firmly said "as long you do the day I'm doing now" he said he would then he was like "WHAT the wants is to work this day" and I was like "What I want is to work no more than four days" and he didn't know what to say. You see, they all stick together like they are friends from way back.

If I stick up for myself they don't seem to back down anymore. The guy who was switching days said to me I could come in early on both days at the weekend I said I could do one day but not both since that would be cutting my hours down. I know I'm capable of dealing with these people it's just they constantly feel the need to question me, order me to do things that I know already and crap like that and generally are hostile when I make effort.

Stand your ground. If you receive shit, throw it right back.
