Hi guys.

I have a fetish for girls with tattoos and piercings. They just seem more down to earth and more importantly down to fuck (DTF).

I have four small tattoos. 3 four leaf clover tattoos, one on each shoulder and one over my "heart of gold". I tell girls I am "badass and magically delicious". =P My 4th tat is a kanji (asian writing) that mean "guitar" as I have played guitar for 15+ years.

I tend to frequent the tattoo shops. I find peace and comfort there. If you have never been to a tattoo parlor, I suggest you enter one ASAP with an open mind and talk to some of the artists. They are some of the coolest people I know.

Pick an area you want tattooed but remember, these are highly permanent. Get a good idea in your head. "Flash" is the name for the designs most shops have on the walls. Ask to look at the artist portfolios. Browse the magazines. Most shops have tattoo magazines to look at to generate ideas. Custom artwork usually costs a small "drawing" fee which may or may not go into the cost of your tattoo. If you have several local shops in your area, visit a few you like. Pick a solid idea and go with it. Most artists are very open-minded as long as you are not a total asshole and come in all drunk and obnoxious.

Talk to the artists about tattoo aftercare. Most shops carry products or recommendations for taking care of your new ink. DO NOT be afraid to ask questions. No question is stupid with regards to permanent body art. Tattoos hurt... bottom line. If anybody tells you it did not hurt, they are most likely lying or were on some type of painkiller (i.e. alcohol) during their inking.

Other than that, be prepared to get something you REALLY want. I tend to wait at least 6 months to a year to make sure it's something I can live with. Another stigma is that tattoos = jail/prison time, especially on guys. Have an open mind and a "I don't give a fuck" attitude.

For a ballpark figure of where to get your tat, here is a handy/funny reference chart:

Above all, find an artist you get along with and appreciate. If the artist is a total dick to you before the tat, you are going to struggle during the inking too. Don't be afraid to smile and be friendly at the shop. These people are artists and make their money providing a service to YOU. Show them respect and they will show you the same. Have fun and best of luck.

P.S. Did I mention tattoos make girls horny and wet?

Everything said here is 100% TRUE!!!!!!!

I've been a tattoo artist for 3 years and I can happily say that being a tattoo artist really opens the mind much more. Artists get to meet and intract with different people which makes us more friendly. Never be afraid of tattoo artists,we r some of the most understanding individuals in the world. If u say something offensive.....best believe we will fuck up ur tattoo. But if u appologize,i can promise u that we WILL FORGIVE U!

Man tattoo artists have gone through MAJOR shit in their lives,so TRUST ME, if u need advice on something in particular...a tattoo artist may have the best answers.
We do this art to GIVE happiness to people. And also,as Chicoman said, check out a tattoo shop and if an artist comes up to u...TALK. I always hear the "no thank yous" but in a minute they want something....FROM THE BEGINING SAY "im planning on getting a tattoo here (body part) that is not...but more like....." we love helping u make a decision.

Chicoman,I was going to write a post EXACTLY like this one but u beat me to the punch....thanks for sharing the tattoo world with the rest of the readers.
