I was reading the thread about the Private Members area with the mPUA lounge etc and it got me thinking about why people want to learn the game.

It seems to me that there are a lot (and I mean a lot) of people out there looking for quick fixes, canned routines/openers etc for instant success with women.

Whilst I suppose this is all well and good in its own way, its not why I decided to devote as much of my free time as possible during the day studying game, then all night out sarging, most days of the week (the joys of being a student with an empty schedule...)

Either way, I figured I'd write down what drove me to start learning game and see what other people came back with. I want to stress now that I'm not saying that my reasons are more noble or right than anyone elses, im simply interested in getting some alternative opinions.


I want to understand the psychology behind attraction/seduction and other forms of human interaction

I want to increase my inner game (and by that I mean personal confidence, outlook on life, broader horizons etc)

Obviously I want to increase my success with women though ironically I've never really struggled with women Im more intrigued by understanding the mechanics behind it.

I want to meet and help other aPUAs as well as travelling the country/world to go sarging with other established PUAs

Lastly and perhaps most importantly, I want to get to a level where I can help my friends.

Im here to help myself UNDERSTAND women, as complex as they may be. Im not saying that we can ever fully understand them...but I'd like to give it a try anyways.

Im a nice guy. I always have been. I generate comfort first and attraction seems to come by a little bit later (if at all). Im here to alpha myself up, not just to help myself attract women but also to help myself get the most out of daily life as well.

I'm here for a couple reasons:

To brainstorm with like minded people in efforts to elevate our games even further, and create new material and new concepts completely.

And to help as many would be PUA's that show real commitment as I can in the process.

Im here because this is a great self improving, self empowering life style. My AFC days and failed relationships is what drove me to better myself. With the experience and knowledge that Ive gained I can definitely see improvements. Not only in cold female interactions but interactions w/ everybody. Although I am always gonna be learning, I also enjoy helping out with advices and tips.

As it has been already said information is power. I think you can apply many of the concepts here presented not only to get girls but for example to deal with your female co-workers and so. If they like you bigger are your chances to get a better promotion and so on. This is just a small sample of what can be achieved besides girls

Wow, you opened a can of worms with this one, didn't you?

Well I'm here, because at the ripe age of 17 I went out with a girl, crashed and burned so freaking hard I never wanted to see her again (she was my co-worker). From that point on I decided I was making a change in my life for the better, and for good. That's also when I stumbled across David D's stuff. That was all I had at the moment...and I didn't realize it then, but I was barely scratching the surface of Pick-Up. It did help me into my first LTR ever tho.

Fast forward to last year, I'm 19, finally single again and ready to meet some girls. I found MM and then The Game, Juggler's stuff, and etc. I've been making all these changes to my life and it REALLY HAS changed me for the better. It helped me bring out all my latent qualities that were already there...I was just too afraid to show them. Now, I'm confident in every interaction, I'm much more outgoing, friendly, and I'm able to express my personality easily with strangers and friends alike. For me this isn't just being a sleazy player, it's becoming that Pick-Up Artist I aspire to be. Someone who has a full, well rounded life, that can get any girl he pleases. Eventually I hope to work through enough girls that I'll find the needle in the haystack, the one I'll marry. If that doesn't happen, then I suppose pickup will just be my way of life. I've even started helping a couple of my AFC friends, to great success! The more I work on my game the closer I get to developing my personal method(I think everyone should have their own unique method instead of copy/pasting the Gurus' stuff...but it is a great jumping off point).

Also, if I wasn't so taken with my major in school, I would be majoring in social psychology or something similar. I just can't get enough of it...it's fascinating to understand it...then apply it!

That is a really good question that i think a lot of people on this forum should ask themselves before they start posting stupid shit left and right. All the quick fix posts are really making sifting through the material difficult. Anyways, back to the topic at hand, personally I have always thought attraction was purely physical (from all my friend-girls who would swoon over guys) and when i found the community it seems like my whole perception of the world has changed. I look at myself before i found the pua community and i look at myself now and i can't believe i used to be that way. I guess what im trying to say is that im here to better myself as a person and hopefully one day be able to help others who want to better themselves.

I couldn't agree with this more, except to add one thing . . . to turn the attraction switches on in every girl I meet. Hey, it never hurts to have every girl wanting you . . . that doesn't mean you have to fuck them all, lol. I also agree that we SHOULD develop our own new material BASED ON the core concepts that WILL ALWAYS work. I mean, the gurus are always creating new material too, because they know we have to, because the old stuff gets so used the girls know it, so we also have to.

As Mystery says "It's about building a life." Nearly every aspect of mine has improved in the time I've been learning PUA.

at first i got into it because my cousin sed to me 'imagen being able to get any girl u want!' that to that i spent then the next 4 months in a frenzy for information. but now iv studied and learned alot... i have changed altogether when it comes to women.. now its not so much about getting the girls as to being able to help guys who cant get women. to be able to change a guys life from zero to hero and walk away knowin i have helped someone.

i dont want to go throu life then at the end think 'wot have i got to show for it.'
