Alright, the deal:

I went to homecoming with this girl in my French class (we're both seniors) and apparently she had just got out of a serious relationship and wasn't planning on going until I asked her.

She has super protective parents (I had to call her dad for permission) and could only go if she could drive. She also had to pay for her own dinner (b/c her mom says if a guy pays it means they want sex) - Good thing she's pretty hot and listens to good music, or else I wouldn't bother.

We ended up going as friends just because she didn't know me that well (her dad made it VERY clear not to try anything). I think the night went pretty well, I didn't kiss close or anything for fear of my life, but I always playfully negged her and was the center of attention. I got a few IOI's (I honestly wasn't really watching for them) - when we held hands she squeezed back and stuff like that.

Sounds good, right? Well, not exactly. I only see her in French class and never outside of school. She never really sits by me or talks unless I initiate the conversation. I'm confused as to where this places me. I felt we had sort of a connection, as I built rapport and inside jokes throughout the night, but now I'm not so sure; I seem to be exactly where I started before homecoming. Anyway...

If you made it this far, I applaud you, (I understand it's boring to read long posts) but I need some suggestions on how to approach this situation. Should I just blindly accept us being friends (w/o any indicator on how she feels), or should I continue to pursue her (like ask her on a date or something). I know I shouldn't be the one pursuing or be fixated on one girl, but I really do like her.

Help?

From what I'm reading, I'd say make the effort to keep playfully flirting with her in school, then ask her out, even if just to hang as friends. While you're hanging as friends, you can flirt more.
