I'm moving and will be looking for a new job in the next coming weeks here.

I have a part time job lined up at an educational academy for kids. Pay's
not terrible. $20 bucks untaxed, but I only do that from 3:30-5:30 M-Th.

So, that's enough to pay most of the rent. I'm really not struggling hardcore
for money, but I'd like to find a job that will be productive, not just paying
the rent.

I was thinking about getting a restaurant job as a server. That will help me
approach sets because...well...it'll be my damn job!

I'm looking at a couple places, but other ideas would be great.

I was thinking of maybe going with a job at the parts department for a
motorcycle shop, but that's going to be counter-productive. I'll just be
milking my employee discount and drain my paychecks on gear

:P

Would like some input!

Thanks

Server, bartender, bouncer, salesman at any large store (best buy, department stores, mall stores), personal trainer working for a gym, working a gym in general, working at a tanning salon, bookstore.

By far the top 3 are ideal, the restaurant and club industry attract a seemingly infinite amount of new people to them every day, and interaction is the key element of your job. The others are all good places as well.

I'd replace bouncer with salesman. While the interaction aspects of bouncing are definitely awesome, you don't get the same sorts of pick-up related interactions as you do in sales. Pick-up _is_ sales; you're just selling yourself instead of some other product.

methuselah - thanks for the list.

monkey - have to agree and disagree with you there. agree that sales probably comes before bouncing.

Bouncing is a chance to meet girls but briefly - also the venue becomes key.
You're not paid to interact with people. You're paid to stand guard. I will
most likely go the restaurant or sales route.

But, having been in high ticket sales, mortgages, I found that it's really not
about the product that you have. Sales is not a product business, it's
really a people business. People want to be associated with DHV and
when you show that, they feel comfortable making a purchase with you.

People meet in target rich locations. Those are the best places to have a job with a lot of interaction.

Examples:
Restaurant, busy cafe
pub, bar, nightclub, etc.
busy stores, malls, outdoor festivals

In my opinion, being a bouncer would suck. Girls just pretend to show attraction for you to get in the club. It's all fake.
