The Round Table idea came to me while I was reading T.H. White's The Once and Future King. In it, Arthur attempts to channel the fighting urge of his knights towards something useful. To do that, he creates a small group who work at establishing something new across Briton. The Round Table itself is a symbol of equality in opinion and purpose.

The Next Step in the pick-up community looks an awful lot like a Round Table. We each need to find a tribe of pick-up artists who think like we do, and forge connections with those people. We need to establish relationships. We need a community that -isn't- thousands strong, but is instead built of small, tight-knit groups contributing to the same causes. We need to refrain from publishing our work (a major issue in the mainstreaming of the community thus far). We need to stay underground. I've tried a few times to codify this idea into a manifesto or mission statement of some sort, but it's a difficult concept for me to put to words (me!).

1) We need to forget everything we've learned, go back to basics, and move in a different direction. This means we need to understand the basic underlying principles of -why- pick-up works, and how we can change the system so that it works, but works in a different way.

2) We need to stay small, stay tight, and encourage contribution. We can't have large groups of rAFCs running around spouting every idea that comes to their heads. We need intelligent discussion about in-field practice and results.

3) We need to stay underground. We can't have any of this Style/Mystery/Juggler bullshit. We need to stay under the radar of both women and AFCs if this is to work at all. When new people are initiated into the fold, the only reason should be a dedication to learning the principles of pick-up artistry and their application.

4) People who don't participate should be kicked. We can't have leeches sucking our life's blood. How many lurkers sit here every fucking day and read what we're writing without contributing a damned thing of their own? How many of the people who -do- post never leave their fucking computer chairs and go out? I'm going out in a half hour, with or without my wing, and I'm going to have a good time. I'm going to practice, because I've been too busy to get out into the field lately.

5) We need to do everything wrong. There is simply not enough experimentation going on in the field right now. There is a safety zone established around pick-up that people refuse to leave. "This stuff works" is the mantra, and no one tries anything new or weird. They never try anything that they know doesn't work because they've been told it doesn't work. Well fuck that. Tonight, I'm doing everything wrong. I'm going to walk up to pretty girls and be a needy little bitch. I'm going to make a fool of myself. I'm going to supplicate my power and let the girls walk all over me. And I'm going to see how it goes.

6) We need direction. I am so sick of everyone fending for themselves on this board. With the exception of a few notable figures (they've been mentioned on another thread pissed off that they're leaving), the majority of the people here are selfish, manipulative douche bags. And even some of the notables are manipulative douche bags (I count myself among them), but at least they're giving about it. We need to help the community in its entirety instead of just helping ourselves. We need to be willing to go a little further, answer a few dumb questions with a grin, and help a brother out.

And I'm a little upset while I'm writing this. It needs streamlining before it's actually a manifesto, but I think you get the gist of what I'm saying. The community isn't dying, guys, but it will if we don't evolve to suit the new challenges placed in front of us. There's a movie coming out based on The Game. There's Mystery's VH1 show. It's not going to end there. The selling-out of the heavy hitters has only just begun, I assure you. Money is far too great a motivator to ignore opportunities like this.

So we need to think subversively. We need to think rebelliously. Our forebear's did, and we have them to thank for our present understanding of seduction. Let's not put their work to waste.

I wish what you suggested would happen but I think that's a slim chance. People love easy answers without having to invest time or effort. Anyhting I can do to back you up let me know, but it's kinda hard since we don't live near each other.

I keyboard it way to much and a small group to help keep me motivated would see very positive results.

What I suggested is -going- to happen, because the people who are truly dedicated to learning pick-up are going to be forced to make it happen. Eventually, the whole world will be played out, and we'll need something new. "Hey guys, I need an opinion on something," is going to get the same looks as "Do you use Windex on your pants? Kuz I can see myself in 'em." The people who care are going to form small cells that don't publish, because if they don't, their secrets are going to be the world's secrets. Wow this sucks big time. It seems everything good has to get a price tag on it. I'm just getting involved in PUA but Monkey wherever it leads take me with you. I really want to become better at this.

Well, then I guess it's time to internalize the game so much that you can say pretty much anything, and it still works. Which is really the goal, to me.
Come on, using an opinion opener won't guarantee you to get laid. The cube won't either. Being comfortable around women and knowing which attitude to have will, and that can never get old. I say fuck canned material, if it's keeping you down or you feel uncomfortable with it. I don't use it if I don't feel positive about it in the moment, because I trust my game to work even if I remove the most stereotypical routines, even if they're good.

Look, I'm not saying it's specific to routines or canned lines. The methods, the structures, the underlying concepts that have been developed by the gurus in this game are being given to the masses hand-over-fist. We need to deconstruct these things, understand them for the Why rather than the What, and re-structure Game in a new, fresh, and unpublished direction. We need to destroy and rebuild, and we should not be sharing what we build with 7000 fucking people (especially since most of them don't give anything back!).

Hehehe, I really like the non-sharing idea. I hate it when people spread knowledge like this and it goes to waste.
But I think that the structures that's been "developed" actually is how the game works. It's the attraction process. It's impossible to reinvent just like that. The "what" thing is the routines and material you learn anyway. The "why" is what you're learing along the way, and the better you get, the more you understand the principles to "why" it works. Therefore, only the most serious PUAs will come to the deeper understanding of why things work, and will survive the day when all canned material is used and this whole underground community (well, not any more it seems) is just as usual as the church or anything.

Anyway, I think I understood the points in your post, otherwise, I'm accedentally debating something totaly different

The round table idea is brilliant and Im following Monkeys adventures by doing everything wrong. Its totally facinating, going out day time sarging tomorow to do some of my own experimenting.

I don't think monkey was saying was a "lounge" for the wise old men of pick up to do their thing better and privately. I think he was advocating Special schools of thought like People who were really into NLP ( just an example) or People who follow Mystery Method ( obviously it too broad a method and the name Mystery could be replaced with.... Monkey or Romeo7... But that there are more specialized schools of thought ( C&F, NLP, Hypnosis for inner game like Rasputin and Steve P specialize in)

I think this is a great idea. I think it will happen as everyone explores the fabric of " Social Dynamics" ( not the company). All art's evolve. Pick-up is no exception. Kudos

I've been wanting to comment on this for a while, and now is when I get my chance to do so.

Here we go:

First Pickup Philosophy:

As a community we want to work as exactly that, a COMMUNITY, where we help each other out, though harsh reality, things ARE NOT working like that and most likely WILL NEVER work like that. (Proof down below)

Now, guys I want you to picture this in your head:

I want you to compare two countries, Sweden and China (rough examples).

Sweden with a population of 9 million and something people.

And China with a population of more than 1 billion.

If you ever read anything about world culture, you should've heard that Sweden things go easy for everyone, everyone progresses and they are, in fact, VERY PEACEFUL. Their population is small as it gets, but they all TOGETHER make a strong force, so THEIR COMMUNITY wins. (Refer to Monkey's highlighted post)

On the other hand, China with over 1 billion in population live in chaos, and poverty, some are successful, some are not, great country, but only few live good, most of them dont. (Again, refer to Monkey's post)

Leave aside how the gov't works, 'cause you could also think about of Pickup as Politics, The pick up gurus are your gov't (most of them sell themselves and funny thing is, they do it for money too), the apprentinces are us, the people, who buy all their lies (although there are some smart ones who don't), and the programs we want to win and work hard for are: women, (duh!)
