I've recently decided I need braces...more or less to complete my new image...but that's beside the point!

How could I 'use' these to my advantage? It's a pretty odd question I know, but I'm gonna have them for a while and they're gonna be visible, so I'm gonna make the best of it!!

If you're in college, people will just be courious, you'll look a little younger, but it won't matter. If you're in highschool just about everyone has em, and you'll picked on for like a day or two when you first get em.

Look em in the eye and say. "I got braces because I wanted them."
DHV by you not giving a dam what people think.

I've got that 'tooth-paste commercial' smile thanks to braces.

It's definitly worth it.

I too had braces in my late teens. They make you look ugly as fuck and people do wince when you smile.

However afterwards, everyones jaws dropped when I flashed my "Hollywood smile".

But to get the rewards you need to go through the pain first.

1) A plastic gum cast is taken for your teeth
2) Glued on "sleepers" and wire tracks hurt like fuck when they're clipped into place (I also had some teeth covered in metal as pillars) and a wireframe on the roof of my mouth.
3) Regular "tightening" of the wire track to form your teeth into place.
4) After the braces come off, youll then wear a retainer (more painful than the brace) but this will keep your teeth from going wobbly.
5) Your teeth will look enormous afterwards and you may feel you have "horses teeth"- but this is just an optical illusion after focusing on your "slimline tracks" for so long.

PS you cannot eat sandwiches, chewing gum, solid food for the duration of the procedure

Thanks for the replies...But just to clarify something, I'm 22, well out of high school. I'm in the military and getting ready to head to Japan!

I don't see why any of that would make a difference, I'm not worried about what people will think of me with braces, because I know the overall outcome is great! I'm, more or less wondering if there is a way I can use them to my advantage?

Here I'm 24 and I have braces, clear on top and stainless steal on the bottom. Braces are not advantage so you cant really use them as advantage...

unlike of what fame is trying to tell, braces don't hurt that much. It's more of an annoyance.

I had braces for years. It really is not a problem so don't worry about it. You will be surprised how little people notice them, so why would you even want to bring them up in an interaction.

Just get on with your usual gaming techniques and let the braces do the job they were intended to do.

i notice braces on a guy, but they're usually not that big of a deal. at least in the back of my mind, i know that he cares enough about his looks and health (yes, having straight teeth is a healthy thing, too) to actually get them. even if he's older.

however, you CAN use them as a form of peacocking. get some funky colors or play up the silver or something. they are painful at times, but they're not that bad. the retainer afterwards is the worst part.

and from experience, sugar-free gum doesn't really stick much, but if you get any with sugar, it will get everywhere and stick like crazy. and a water-pick helps with keeping them clean, if you're like me and don't have the patience for flossing around wires.

I'm 24 next week and have got braces. My top brace is the white/slightly clear type and although noticeable, much better than the metal ones. I'm getting a lower one on soon too.

I got it before christmas and did wonder what effect it would have on women but it seems to be very little. I'm not a PUA god by any means but do ok and still get with various girls every now and then, so I wouldn't worry.
