Hey guys,

Im a new member here, but Ive read the forums on and off for a couple years now. I usually come back when I have a question or tryin to figure why something worked.
Side bar, I was at a big music fest a year ago, met a guy who also knew about the art...shit he even knew more than I did. It was random enough we knew about all this and tried wingin but he just couldnt apply the skills. All I did was peacock (flashy bright lime and orange shirt the girls love) and was straight up...short story 3HB 3 consecutive nights. Anyways, he tried to analyse way too much rather than just sarge and roll with it...at a 100 000+ music where there are packs of drunk hb roamin around lookin for a piece you dont really need to think about you just need a gimmick that sets you apart.

Back home i really dont have too many problem sargin, and I am really aggressive in the bar scene , I just feel real comfortable approachin women in those social situations. I usually just wait for an in and make some joke about something and then just keep it rollin. But right now Im deployed overseas and the barscene is no more at least I am fortunate enough to be on a base that actually has a few hbs, a lot of grenades too. Im set up probably the best you be. We have a lot of luxaries that the regular guys dont have - own rooms with internet, own bathroom, firepit, ranges, own social room, and booze which is a rarity here. So once a hb comes over to our area she's pretty much hooked just cause we're livin like rockstars compared to them.Building rapport is easy. Our downside is that we arent in their social circles at all because we dont really work with them, we keep to our own. So an opener is really hard. The only time we're out and about is when we hit the chowhall or at the gym. The chowhall is where everyone goes and the gym only has a few hbs on occasion. We've been making a few connections and a few ins here and there but nothing substantial yet. There are few hangout spots..a couple coffee places and a recroom with a few pool tables..but noone usually goes.

I can use the chowhall line as an in, but I would have to time it perfect to line up with the target. The direct approach is hard here, cause its borderline inapproapriate and I cant burn bridges or be known as the guy who hits on everyone.

I guess what Im askin is what kind of IN or opener could I make for myself without being straight up way to obvious Im hitting on the target? Everyone knows what we do and the mysteriousness of our job is cool to the HBs and the fact we dont wear uniforms is a plus.I can't burn bridges either so that makes a direct approach even harder. Once I get a descent opener I'll be good from there , I just cant seem to make anything happen. I sarged a medevac pilot (9) here cause we needed info on medevac stuff so that was a good in and it was workin for a few days till she dropped the BF bomb on me...we still talk cause well she's hot but I have enough chick friends back home.

any words of wisdom or thoughts are appreciated, Ive got ideas and some things I need to test out but this message is already long enough.
