Ok so I was having a text conversation with this target girl. (yes - i know texting conversations are bad but I'm in highschool and the girls like live for it here) anyway, were talking and she called me an asshole. i turn around and respond and at the end i wrote "and don't fucking call me that." She snaps and responds with "did you seriously just talk to me like that?" to which i said "yes. i did. don't call me that again." and I just stopped texting after she responded "whatever."

Honestly, I just think she needs to grown the hell up. What do you think?

I think both of you do. No need to flip out at someone because they called you a name. Especially since it was in writing so there is no way to judge the tone it was meant to be heard in. Punish her by ignoring her, or maybe a "that wasn't very nice" and then ignoring her. Don't sink down to the AFC level (remember as Style says, everything that goes wrong with a girl is your fault).

Asshole is one of the most used words in my vocabulary. It's also almost guaranteed to be accompanied by a set of smiling eyes, and a cocked grin

I also think you need to grow up. There is no need to freak out for being called a [any cuss word here]. You should be happy that she just gave you a great opportunity to neg her for her bad mouth.
I hate people who swear often in my nearth, because cuss words are unneeded and show how immature/LSE a person is... but when texting it gives you lots of time to get over it and react like PUA!

Face-to-face I'd ignore her completely for that or give her a "wtf you're weird"-face, then ignore her, lol.

You need to work on your social skills man. Being called an asshole is not the end of the world. Best way to deal with it is to pretend it never happened.
