So I know a Girl who wants to break up with her current boyfriend, but the bf supposedly has been recording sex videos of them in the past without her knowledge and is planning to blackmail her by sending the videos to her parents to keep her in a relationship with him.

I agree he's probably lying but then again you never know. One thing is sure that guy is crazy and she needs to cease contact with him she should let her parents or someone who can help her know whats going on

If I were you I would tell her to call him on his bluff. If he DOES have videos like that, her family can most likely take legal action against him.

I say this is the best action to take on this. I would also say it may be best for the girl to warn the ex-boyfriend about possible legal action taken against him if he does have such tapes.

Joe Pesci would have that guy straightened out in one visit, amazing what a simple baseball bat can accomplish. No but seriously, not only blackmailing a crime you should find a way to turn it back on him.

I agree, the guy is bullshitting. In the event he is telling the truth, if you can prove that he knowingly threatened to use the tapes in blackmail, he will do some hard time, or at least have to shell out a couple g's.

If the bf is more or less rational, I'd go with the calling his possible bluff and threatening with legal action if he sends the tape anywhere.

The big risk here is that IF he really has a tape and is crazy enough to upload it online. Because after that, there is no way to ever erase that video.

Ok, now I'm a sneaky and manipulative person if needed. So if I was the girl, I would feed the bf a story about getting back together and playing the "lets start clean"-card. At that point the next logical step is trust, and for that we'd have to watch the tape together and erase if afterward, so that we could really start over again clean. And when all the shit is erased, I'd tell him to go fuck himself
