I'm trying to sarge this HB 8 in the juice bar downstairs. I see her most days for a minute, we've reached the smiling in recognition stage. It's not much I know, but I take that to be a little IOI. Don't know, but I've got to work on the principle it is. Anyway, I wanna take it a stage further. Trouble is she doesn't speak much English: she's about Intermediate standard (conversations about standard subjects (where she live/I live, what she does etc). How do I phase-shift? I wanna take it on a level, not bothered if it doesn't work out. I don't think she could understand the jealous girlfriend opener, not whilst there's other people queuing for wheat grass and beetroot juice. What next guys?

I live in an area where a lot of Russian immigrants and foreign exchange students live, so I can give you a little bit of advice. When you meet someone who obviously has chosen english as a second language, compliment them on how well they speak english (even if they struggle with it). Ask them if they wouldn't mind teaching you a couple of simple phrases. Make it a point to mess it up a little, even if only to keep the conversation going. If all goes well, work some flirting into it from there. Let me know how it goes for you, even if you don't try my method. I'd really like to find out.
