I've been reading a book, "Democracy in America" by Alexis de Tocqueville
Most of it is about politics, and other species of un-interesting topics.
But I found some stuff indirectly related to PU.
If you are interested on knowing where my ideas come from read the quote, and if you are just a lazy bastard skip to my conclusion:

In Democracy in America, Tocqueville wrote of the New World and its burgeoning democratic. He saw democracy as an equation that balanced liberty and equality, concern for the individual as well as the community.
America, in contrast to the aristocratic ethic, was a society where money-making was the dominant ethic, where the common man enjoyed a level of dignity which was unprecedented, where commoners never deferred to elites, where hard work and money dominated the minds of all, and where what he described as crass individualism and market capitalism had taken root to an extraordinary degree.
This rapidly democratizing society, as Tocqueville understood it, had a population devoted to "middling" values which wanted to amass, through hard work, vast fortunes. In Tocqueville's mind, this explained why America was so different from Europe. In Europe, he claimed, nobody cared about making money. The lower classes had no hope of gaining more than minimal wealth, while the upper classes found it crass, vulgar, and unbecoming of their sort to care about something as unseemly as money; many were virtually guaranteed wealth and took it for granted. At the same time in America workers would see people fashioned in exquisite attire and merely proclaim that through hard work they too would soon possess the fortune necessary to enjoy such luxuries.
These unique American values may explain American exceptionalism and shed light upon many mysterious phenomena, such as why America has never embraced socialism. To Tocqueville, America was set apart by its peculiar democratic mores. But, despite maintaining, with Aristotle, More, Montesquieu, and others that the balance of property determined the balance of power, Tocqueville argued that, as America showed, equitable property holdings did not ensure the rule of the best men. In fact, it did quite the opposite. The widespread, relatively equitable property ownership which distinguished America and determined its mores and values also explained why the American masses held elites in such contempt.
In Europe I you were rich, was due to luck. You were born noble and wealth was assured. If you were poor, then tough luck, deal with it.
But in America there was no nobility, so everybody was the same, so people could get rich by effort.
So in America we all are equal. If you have money, you must have obtained it from hard work. Maybe you can disagree with me, but now in in the United States we enjoy a relatively great level of equality.
Many people today feels anxious. Becuase they watch in the TV a lot of luxuries that most likely thay would never enjoy. And the people that actually enjoys those luxuries, obtained them by working hard, having revolutionary ideas, and skill. If you are poor, then it must be your fault. Not being rich is the worst thing that can happen to you.
Traditional men are like Europe, If you are good looking, rich or "cool", then you were born wich such gift, you can take beautiful women for granted. And if you don't tough luck...try find an ugly chick if you can. But we learned a way of making ourselves as likely of getting a girl as anyone. We are all equal. If you cant get a girl it must be your fault.
Many of the newbies here maybe can feel that anxiety, as I did. Now I can succeed with women. I might not be as good as others, but I've learned to compare myself only with me.
So if you read about PU, its time to cut the bullshit and start fighting for yourself. There's no excuses. Thats why there is not such thing as an AFC, the minute you grab a book about pick up you are as good as anyone. Ok maybe you wont succeed right away, but at least you wont have any excuse for not having a girl.
