First of all, whatever a girl says can't be taken literal. They constantly change their mind. Second, girls don't go out with guys that they don't at least have some interest in. The "friend date" thing is like a little shit test, or basically a way to take the pressure off herself so she knows she won't have to deal with fulfilling physical and sexual expectations. For her, she can make that one statement and completely throw you off your game and put the ball in your court, meanwhile she's carefree with nothing to lose when you go out.

Yes, I'd play it a little different on your date and not escalate physically. But I'd still show high value and build rapport and push/pull. If I could tell she seemed to have true friendzone intent, then I'd just use her as a prop around my arm and flirt with other girls to make her jealous and to give yourself preselection. Tell her you went to school with some girl at the other table and get up and go game her while this girl watches in confusion. Tell the new girl that the other girl is your coworker or sister or something. Totally play them off of each other to get what you want. I mean if she is going to friendzone you, then you owe her nothing.
