Hey guys,
Spent a lot of time in here when i was in high school, got laid more than anyone in my school towards the end of that. Dated the girl of my dreams for the following year but ended things because i was looking for something that women, relationships, school, and conventional activities in general could not provide me with. Experimented with a couple drugs, then wound up checking out different eastern (as well as some western) philosophies about the nature of reality and the universe in general. This brought me to meditation, where i've spent the past year actively practicing different forms/varieties but have ultimately come back to the "open space" or awareness meditation. dumb simple.
This, for me, has been absolutely life changing, and i imagine would be for anyone who actively engaged/committed to for any length of time >a week. But. for the sake of not overselling how to fix one's entire life, i'll stick to why this has helped my game..
Imagine, if you will, that upon this investigation, that you actually experience a direct union between yourself and the objects external to you. Can you see how this might spill over into your relationships in general? imagine you could fully feel what the person in front of you felt, imagine the newfound data you would become aware of, if you immediately came into an incredibly deep rapport just upon seeing someone and that that person immediately entered into it with you.
I read something Gambler wrote in a book once back in high school. He was highlighting an evening he had where he said the girl he had met 5 minutes prior was now resting her head on his shoulder saying she felt like she had known him for years. I have girls say this to me now. I have girls confess their deepest darkest shit to me within 10-20 minutes of conversation. Their stories, their passions, the real juice of their lives and i don't even ask. I literally don't do anything. I just sit there. in union. with them. Then they ask for my number, and it goes as fluidly and easily from there as it does from the beginning.
We talk about naturals and whatnot and i think we are all more or less naturals, but society, and conditioning and whatnot have taken us from an otherwise natural state and left us searching for novel theories on game and whatnot. To me, its really about a return to our natural condition, and then an improvement and evolution of it through the means of arrival.. meditation/awareness.
To be clear, i'm not some spiritual junky hipster or whatever. I'm a math/physics major at a big research school. I produce music with my friends in my spare time, and like to hike. My looks are above average but not highly so. Past all that i don't think any amount of intelligence, theory, or whatever can be put in place, or really even compare to, the gains in social amiability that awareness brings. Not to mention the insight into oneself, and the natural unfolding of improvement that flows from such insight.
Anyway, I'd say thats about the extent of my contribution, since theres not really that much to say about awareness, other than to recommend this book "Presence" by Rupert Spira for a long form guide into one's "blind spots".
Could you point me in the right direction?
currently involved in a couple of books and don't really have the time too start another one.
