How far do you trust your instincts when first meeting a girl? The other day at work I was introduced to a new female colleague and I think i felt and instant 'spark', by which I mean mutual between us. I'm not sure if I noticed any IOI's but there was definitely something there that I can put my finger on. I have experienced this same feeling in the past and ended up having success, however other times no success, and not necessarily by me messing anything up - just turned out there was no instant attraction on their part. I suppose the best way to describe the feeling is like when youve been gaming a girl for a while and you get that feeling where you know you can go in for the kiss. Like upon first meeting this girl i just got a feeling that I could probably kiss her and get away with it.

A thought I had afterwards though was because I get quite nervous around new girls I tend to zone out for the first few seconds probably just thinking 'wow she's hot', so did I perhaps unconsciously pick up on some subtle IOI's and that's what gave me that feeling?

So my question is, when you feel this spark with someone for no apparent reason (no obvious iois) do you trust this feeling, or do you ignore it and start your game from square 1 and move forward. Or maybe a question would be, does it actually matter either way?

Thanks guys

I trust my instincts 200%. they are the ones telling me what I should or shouldn't do.
Don't know your background but from my experience when I started going out to pick up I already had learned A LOT and felt very comfortable to what I was doing to a point that I didn't need to really think about actually doing things. It just came out naturally, this is, instinctively.
If you get a certain feeling about something then probably you are right and if you act accordingly that's what you should do. Because even if you fail you'll learn something new to be applied next time and by doing that you'll improve your game by many orders of magnitude.
Once you get to a level that you can read the other then it will be very natural to you and you won't even think about it.
You should read about NLP.

Not that this book has anything to do with pickup, but it does describe what you feel is instinct. It's called Blink: The art of thinking without thinking. Basically, what happens is that you do pick up on are visual cues that only happen in a split second. Although you don't consciously realize what has happened, your subconscious is well aware of it because of past experiences. At some point, if you pay attention, you'll actually realize what the actual visual cue is and at that point it is knowledge and not instinct.

It's a good book put it's core tenet is that your instincts become more honed the more you practice.

That guy who shot down the missile was fucking unbelievable. They even ran it as a simulation telling the guys doing it that one of the incomings was a missile and they still didn't spot it!
