Here's the story: Spotted a gorgeous hairdresser at place I go to, knew I had to ask her out next time I went. Fastforward a month (last week), go in for late haircut and its only her and two others there. Start talking about food trucks and events in town, invite her to a tuesday night event and grab her number. Tell her I will be out of town for a week and will reach out to her when back.

Sunday night, send here a text:

Me: Hi x, its fultongreene, the guy with the now great haircut. I just got back to town from trip, I'll call you tomorrow so we can figure out a time to get together this week.
Her: Hi love!!!! Sounds good

Next night, call around 9 pm, no answer.

Her: Hey! Sorry i missed your call just got home from the gym cooking dinner right now
Me: Great minds think alike, I just did the same
Me: Give me a call when you're finished.

Never heard back from her. Event is tonight, but storm is coming in anyway, so likely a no go. Don't want to blow her up, what do you all suggest from here?

She seems friendly enough, but I think she's flaking on you without actually flaking...

I'd leave her for a few days and try again, if she hasn't contacted you by then. If she pulls the same crap then she's just not that into you.

She's likely going to flake on you, or she would have made contact.

Girls flake because not enough value/tension was built. As a result she at least thinks she’s good enough for you , so even if she flakes, she’s sure you’ll be chasing her later. This is not a “cancellation” to her, just “postponement” from a try hard guy like yourself.

I told her I wouldn't be in town for this week, so never explicitly invited her. I am likely just going to shoot her a text today along the lines of, "hey was going to see if you wanted to join to food truck event tonight, but something else came up. You can tag along next week"

I think you could get the same message across in better words. Something like "Hey sorry to be a flake but tonight I think I'm going to do so and so.... Would you want to reschedule for next weekend?"

This way you don't seem like a douchebag. You just seem like a polite busy dude who pulls way more girls than a douchebag.
