| The term 'roundheads' makes me slightly upset. The insinuation that the Round Table concept is a way for Methuselah to maintain control over his forum also upsets me. I believe some strange connotations have come over the term, and I would like to set the record straight on this.
The Round Table is a concept I came up with while reading T.H. White's "The Once and Future King." I envisioned a number of pick-up artists meeting as equals to further their own goals in the art, much like Arthur's knights. We would trade stories of conquests and share in our defeats, and through a more personal, smaller-scale connection, we would be able to develop pick-up in new and interesting ways. My own Round Table does not have a King Arthur; no one rules me, and I am an equal in every way with the men who participate in it.
I envisioned every ascendant pick-up artist belonging to a Round Table. Obviously, some would be more skilled overall than others, but there was nothing elitist in the original inception. I'm a good pick-up artist. I need to talk with good pick-up artists if I am to improve, so my own Round Table tends to be filled with guys who know what they're talking about. If you are a green-as-grass newb, I suggest you go out and find a bunch of other green-as-grass newbs and start your own Round Table.
The idea was simple:
-Develop pick-up in directions it has never been developed before. When you deal with a small group of people, all coming up with new ideas (and keeping those ideas to themselves, this is key), you end up with three lairs of pick-up artists in the same city, and none of those lairs use the same material.
- Provide support for one another in whatever ways are possible. Is one of your Round Table members broke ass? The others can get together and get him some coin. Does one of your guys need to build a new avatar? Everyone can pitch ideas to make it perfect. Need a couch to crash on in Edmonton? My guys can call me up day or night, and they have my disgusting-ass residence-germ-ridden couch whenever they want it.
If you're going to bash the moderators on another forum (even me! I love a good bashing now and again!), feel free to do so. But please, the Round Table concept is my baby, and I do not want to see it thoughtlessly killed.
Feel free to hate my fellow knights, but the Table itself is sacred. I'm begging, here. _________________ Repent now and save 50% on your next divine judgment.
