So I just recently got done with my first day of pledging but iffy weather or not i should stick with it... this pledge ship is supposed to be short and intense but i dont know if its a frat i want to join... of course the only reason im joining it is because of girls i hope my numbers double.. does any one have experience with this? let me know thanks

I can tell you from seeing my friends do it that pledging sucks, its supposed too... you're basically the frats lil bitch/whipping boy/slave all in one... I know where you're coming from tho, however you're essentially paying for friends and maybe a cool house to live in... You can be a PUA and get more puss than the AFC frat boys plus you don't have any commitments to the frat... If you do decide to go along with the pledge, make sure the dudes in the frat are cool and you like what its all about... I'm sure a lot of other guys on here can give you some input from their experiences as I was never in a frat...

I was thinking about rushing in the winter too. I don't think I'll need to in terms of social stuff but more of a place to constantly be able to party and hang out.

Frats are for AFCs to get some validation. You should be above that.

Need a place to hang out and party? Befriend them and all of the other frats.

the guys are already pretty cool and pledging is not that bad at all.. its actually kind of fun... i just dont know about the girls they hang out with..they dont seem to be my type.. i was expecting better..but whatever they are getting a new house so that means better girls hopefully i just dont know weather or not i should wait for the new house or pledge a different frat.

Valence, you have either been a victim of some fraternity or they wouldn't let you into their party. Don't talk about things that you know nothing about besides an outside judgement. One of the AFC mistakes people make all the time is judging too quickly. This sends off bad vibes and can DLV you when you are trying to DLV them or DHV yourself.

In regards to being in a fraternity, I love it. Last year, I hated fraternities and thought they were just stupid people who drank all of the time. Then I opened my mind up a little and ended up pledging TKE. Pledging sucks, for the most part, but it does enhance the bond of brotherhood.

The parties are a good enough reason to pledge. I pledged for business and resume reasons. If you are Greek, there is a great chance your employer or a few people in the business hierarchy are Greek as well. This creates a bond with that person and will help you heavily throughout a career. Also, if you are active in a Greek organization, you are seen for the qualities involved with that. You are viewed as active and loyal, which are key qualities in a career.
