My advice for what it's worth:

If you didn't do it, you didn't do it. Just tell the cops it wasn't you. Don't contact the girl at all, in any shape or form. Just ignore her completely. For now, lay low, focus on studying, ignore parties/alcohol/girls. Minimize liability in your life so nobody will think you're a total sketchball. Do not sign any confessions, do not agree to anything if anyone cuts you a deal. You are innocent, just keep a straight face and maintain the sound byte "I was asleep at the time. Here are my telephone records, am I free to go?"


Contact your boss, and tell him about the current situation. Make him sympathetic, tell him how out of nowhere you get this garbage and how it's affecting you. Ask him if there are any resources to help kids if something like this happens. Print out a copy of your cell phone records (you can probably access them from the website), and give it to him to prove your innocence. He will understand completely.


I know you're supposed to be innocent until proven guilty, but as a man accused of a sex crime, you're pretty much screwed unless you can prove otherwise.

Now if you did do it, shame on you dude. Just don't confess to anything and lawyer up if they press you hard.
