I am sure this has been discussed before but I have found that a cell phone can be a very useful aid when gaming.

1) You can attract attention to yourself by talking loud enough for people to hear. Make the conversation interesting and it can open doors for you.

2) You can close in on a prospective game by pretending you're concentrating on your phone call while you slowly get within distance of someone attractive you've spotted. Hang up the phone and hit them with a canned approach e.g. "Can you believe my friend. He said he'd meet me here but now he says his lost! And he's lived in this city for like 10 years!". I used just this to open a two set today. It worked like a charm.

3) If you're on a date and you're unsure how it'll go you can use your cell phone as a distraction to eject. Most phones now have an alarm which can play the same tune as your phone when it rings. Set it to 15 minutes into the date, pretend that someone has called and use it accordingly. If the date is going well just say, "sorry I've got to go, I am entertaining a lovely young lady and I should not keep her waiting". If the date is going badly then you can use it as an excuse to eject e.g. "oh my God, is he ok? Did they get the license plate?! I'll be right over". LOL! My phone has two alarms so I can set it for 15m and 30m during the date!

If you think a real phone works well as an opening prop, try a blatantly fake one! I get 'em from Walgreens in the candy isle for $1 a piece and loudly ask the hottest girl in a bar to put her number in it. It negs and her friends get a laugh with me

Cellphones can indeed send out good vibrations when used at all. I like king midas' routine of using a blantant fake one to use on a girl, that is dare I say, golden.
