Negging? Dark? My God, wait until you read the "doors are weird" routine then lol. Nothing wrong with a playful neg - I told a girl last week "you go red around your neck when you're cumming. So predictable!" Which could be taken as a neg... it might not be some amazing attraction boosting tool but it's just a little fun and teasing. Negs are just generally used wrong and have a bad reputation.

I will say though, that negs are VERY needy when they're scripted or reaction seeking. If you're saying "I like your eyes, especially the right one" in the hopes of hearing "what's wrong with the left one?" then you're doing everything wrong.

I consider a neg anything that's meant to try to lower a woman's self-esteem. Good-natured teasing isn't negging. What you said isn't negging. I bet she grinned and laughed.

Negs aren't attacks on self-esteem either. Your opinion is the result of a term being misunderstood and a bad definition being repeated over and over online changing a bit each time, like a game of telephone kids play.

Like the OP, the community has helped me immensely. Now that I am a competent man and am able to handle my own, I don't visit the forums like I use to. I also have dropped some of the things i have learned, because from experience I know what works and does not work. I don't develop a "OMG FOLLOW THIS GUY, HIS WORD IS GOLD" kinda guy that the RSD guys keep getting a rep for.
