I'm so paranoid, that girls actually think I'm playing hard to get when they offer sex. I have two girls who keep texting me asking to meet up but I keep pussying out and cancelling. The things I've heard about herpes make me worry that it will prevent me from having a healthy family in future - considering 1/4 people have it. Does anyone else feel like this?

I got tested after every sexual partner I've had in the past.

Breathe in. Breathe out. FUCKING RELAX. It's not healthy to go around being terrified of something that COULD happen, but is NOT guaranteed. That goes for everything in life. Be smart, be careful, use protection, choose your partners carefully and listen to your gut when you think it might not be safe to proceed with someone. But do not allow yourself to be a slave to any sort of irrational fear.

Either get over it or don't have sex. Herpes is gonna disappear anytime soon.

Most people are asymptomatic. Even people who aren't usually get 1-4 outbreaks during their first year, and then it's gone for pretty much the rest of your life with like 2 or 3 more outbreaks maybe in a lifetime.

Do I have herpes? No clue, as I haven't had any symptoms, but considering I've slept with something like 30 women and done oral/had oral on at least a dozen or two dozen more, probably. Most STD tests don't test for it unless you ask, because it's not a big deal at all.

It's basically just a way to slut shame girls. It's just like HPV, everyone has it (and unlike herpes, HPV can actually kill people in rare circumstances).

As far as I know, nobody actually pays attention to whether a partner has herpes outside of high school, and maybe some colleges.

If your goal is to sleep with a lot of women, you're probably going to encounter it at some point. Something like 1/6+ have it.

It is a real risk, so just use a condom.

I wouldn't say you're "pussying out".....you're just being smart about it. Thats one of the reasons I don't go out and bring girls home......the chance of STDs is way too high, even with a condom.

All I have to say is good job man.

Seriously, hardly anyone gets regular STI checks unless they have noticable symptoms and even at that they'll still go ahead and ride someone guilt free because "they can't be sure."

I think you need to assess what you really want: Do you want quantity or quality? Quantity is easy... Just shotgun approach as many women as possible and bring any old skank home at the end of the night. Quality is generally the types you have to work for and who don't give up to guys easily.

If you got offered a 150 million dollar contract to play in the NFL... but you knew you had to get out there and take a few hits in the process, would you really let that stop you?

You can either be scared, sit on the sidelines and watch... Or you can get out there, play, and risk taking a hit.

Choice is yours.

Sex is hardly like a $150 million dollar contract.

I meant if you wanna step in the ring, be ready to box. I didn't mean for you to take the analogy THAT literally.

The boxing analogy is better.

A couple things.

(1) You aren't THAT likely to catch Herpes if you are careful.
(2) Herpes, for the vast majority of people is simply not a big deal with very mild symptoms; it has a social stigma that started in the 70s because (this is a true story) a pharma company came up with a SPAM so they made a whole campaign about how genital herpes is bad. No one gave a shit about it before then.

Thanks very much for the insightful replies, it has put my mind at ease a little.

I've now set up a meet with a really HB tonight (guaranteed banging) but I'm wondering is there a non offensive way of asking a (one night stand) girl if she has herpes/STDs?

I get regular check ups. For my safety. Every three months.

I never really brought it up unless she was worried. If she wants to sleep with you and she thinks it is a turn off she could and most likely will lie about it. Heck, most girls have no idea unless they go to their OBGYN with an issue or check up.

Use protection and be smart. That is your best defense.

There is a risk of catching something from any girl. As Magikal said, if you ever want to sleep with a girl, you will always take that risk. The choice is yours.
