If it wasn't PUA then it would've been something else. His team lost, he didn't like tax inspectors, he was angry about... whatever.

Stuff like this is an excuse, a justification for inherently egocentric behaviour. He would have found the justification anywhere if it wasn't PUA.

Everybody has shit in their lives, how well or badly we deal with it depends on a million things. I could bitch and whine about all the crap I've dealt with over the years. One person is wired to get themselves through it, others are wired to do stuff like that.

It's a tough call, I always thought you need to be some way crazy to kill anyone so partly I feel sorry for him because he was badly damaged but partly (mostly) I have no sympathy whatsoever. We all have choices. My sympathy lies with the victims. PUA would not have saved him, you have to have years of being fucked up and fucked over to get to that point.

He was sick but he also needed some amount of sanity to do what we did or he could never have done it.

Our desires to OWN something is a trip; perhaps we are all bag-ladies afterall, collecting whatever the hell we can find, stuffing it in our bags, and calling it "mine". Many of you seem to be rallying behind the idea that "our community" is based on some self-improvement/sellf-discovery blabber. A community of self improvement?. . . based on what?

For every "Go improve yourself and learn to love others" thread, there are 100 threads that discuss and recommend to essentially talk about vagina, wank off in front of the girl, tell her you are horny, announce that you will stab it with your dick. Stab the vagina with the dick. And then somehow magically make the girl fall in love with you just so you can repeat the process. Our members go crazy over this. We applaud it. Guys share that they fucked 1000 girls with this strategy. . . we applaud that. And now suddenly, all of you are backing out and telling each other that we are some deep spiritual discovery group?

The media has "our community" pegged 100% right. There are a few intereting characters. . . there are a few people who mean well. . . but if this forum itself is any clue, this community is made up mostly of degenerate, angry, lying losers who are a few shades away from the acts of the PUAHATE posterchild.

Could have been? . . . Many already are.

I think it's a safe guess that he was probably a clinical narcissist and perhaps an actual psychopath. This would explain his entitled behavior and his inability to connect with others.

More related to the original post – I had many similarities to his situation. I was a virgin until I was 26, fortunately I managed to rescue myself from that desperate situation with the guidance of the PUA community.

I would say there are plenty of men at 22 that can resonate with that level of desperation and despair. I know exactly how it feels to feel hopeless, and to feel like all women found me undesirable or even disgusting. The key difference between Elliot and guys like me is I blamed myself instead of blaming women (usually). Most guys that end up dead from this just commit suicide and the public never hear about it. Unfortunately he lashed out and became a mass murderer. I've never had a violent fantasy in any sense, but I did consider suicide during my early 20s. I wish I could reach out to every "incel" (involuntarily celibate) man and let him know there is always hope. That suicide or even worse murder is never the answer.

Another thing is I don't think men necessarily feel anymore entitled to women as women feel entitled to men (Elliot perhaps being the exception). Most people just want to be desired, to be loved, to satisfy our sexual urges and to connect emotionally with the other gender. I would say that's not "entitlement" just biology. The difference is since women are generally the sexual selectors, they in many ways actually are entitled to sex. They are the ones that reject and select men and typically can have sex when they want. Ever see a hot woman be rejected by a man? Her pissed off reaction is definitely entitlement and ego-bruised. Fortunately for women they rarely have to deal with rejection, at least to the degree that men do.
