| I'm not a mPUA, in fact, calling me anything more than a rAFC would be pushing it. However, after having read Mystery's book, something dawned on me tonight. I'll ask you all to please consider the following:
Women want an alpha male. In fact, they want the most powerful alpha male that they are able to get with their level of physical attractiveness. This is because in prehistory (see tribal existence) social value was the most important kind. It is better to have 50 cavemen friends than to have 30 sheep. If you have enough caveman friends, you can use them to help you get sheep, but sheep are just sheep. In modern times if you have money you can get people to work for you--but that's not how it worked in caveman times. Keep in mind that for the entire span of human existence we have lived in cities for only a small percentage of that period (10%? i'm not sure).
How do women gauge social value? One of two ways:
#1 directly, if you are surrounded by a large quantity of quality people, and/or are preselected by other women, you have high value. Ex:going into a club with a whole bunch of people who think you are the shit, can get you laid. Girls see your social value, you could potentially even calculate it as the product of quality and quantity
#2 indirectly, if you exhibit characteristics of a given level alpha male.
The second method is interesting. In today's society, the politicians, professionals and businessmen have all the power. However, the lower classes usually tend to be more rowdy, aggressive and overall alpha.
Let me illustrate: One of my best friends is an engineer for Boeing. He makes a shitton of money, and lives in a nice house and drives a brand fucking spankin new car. He is perennially dateless. He also has 0 game.
One of my friends from high school is a marine. He fucks hot bitches constantly, i'm surprised his cock hasn't fallen off. He dosen't make shit for pay, although he is ripped and is a total cocky son of a bitch.
Why the disparity here? In tribal times, the only guy who could get away with being cocky was the alpha male. The more alpha you were, the more shit you could get away with. If you were towards the bottom of the social ladder however, being a jackass would get you punished by the alpha. THEREFORE IN ABSENCE OF PEOPLE FROM WHICH TO DERIVE SOCIAL VALUE AN ALPHA MALE CAN BE JUDGED BY HOW FUCKING OUTLANDISH HE ACTS
Furthermore, this is why girls give us all those dumb tests. If your Alpha status is perceived directly (seen with lots of cool people), it is clear that you have value. However, if a girl meets you at say the mall, and you seem pretty cool, she may still test you to see if you truly are an alpha. Shit tests test to see how you respond to crap a girl throws at you. If you truly are an alpha, you will not be phased by it; otherwise you will be thrown. Hence why pass/failure of a shit test dramatically effects how attracted a girl is to you.
Confidence, negs, peacocking, these are all things that you would get crushed by the others in your tribe UNLESS YOU WERE THE ALPHA MALE. In todays society of course, you can be a good little drone @ work, but a bad boy after dark. Therein lies the great conundrum we have all faced. Why are girls attracted to douchbags who don't have a good job, but not nice guys with $$$? In cave man times, only the tribal leader could get away with being a douche. Looking at the bigger picture, we can see that the characteristics which help you get women (aggressiveness, impulsiveness, forcefulness) are often detrimental to the accumulation of material goods (I hope that most doctors and lawyers aren’t impulsive). To succeed at both areas of your life (love, material) you need to develop personality traits which are at odds with each other.
NOTE: This is essentially a generalization of what is in Mystery's book "The Mystery Method". He connects all the dots, but fails to make the connection between alpha male douchbags, and how their societal roles have reversed in the last 10,000 years.
