From my short time here it seems like there are quite a few people who may not realize that there are rules or courtesies for behavior in a bar.

I am simply looking to share my experience as I have worked in bars, spend a lot of time in bars and given my track record realize that hired guns are the most fun and easiest for me to game. You can use the bar and the staff to your advantage!

1. Bartenders remember you and they do talk to other people.

* if you treat them poorly they will give you poor service, they will not help you help yourself either. Bartenders have seen it ALL when it comes to men picking up women. They know the signs and are less willing to be a wing for you (indirectly) if you treat them like crap. If you are someone the bartender likes to hang out with - the more likely they are to tell someone else that you are fun to hang out with - or to give you insight (recon) as to other people in the place. I get many tips from my informer bartenders about who is or isn't looking to have a good time that night in the bar. Power drinker verses the ones looking to have fun.

2. Bartenders can offer easy DHV.

*If you take care of the bartender (tipping) they remember you - give you better (quicker) service, give you a big introduction when you come in etc.
Case study - I am well known in a certain bar by all the staff. This bar doesn't have a large group of regulars so every night is a new crowd. I walk in to a "Hey duck! how the fuck are you! What can I get you?" Every woman in earshot has just now heard that I am SOMEBODY. Instant DHV.
Place is crowded and every time I go to get a drink they leave whomever they were with to serve me - ahead of the AFC just standing there with his 5 waiting to be asked what he wants. I actually had a guy get pissed when my bartender did that - get tried to AMOG me. This is the story:
Quote:
For instance - last night I walk in - my bartender is between 2 AFC's and they are working her Night at the Roxberry style. Have her sandwiched between themselves. She immediately breaks off and welcomes me and I go to immediate KINO (heavy) not so much to work her but to put the AFC's in their place.

I have immediately become the alpha in the bar to the AFC and to every woman there as I am someone the hot bartender wanted to see.

AFC came over and asked (loudly) who I was and if I had ever been there before - response "First time I have ever been here" Put him in his place and raised my intrigue level with the other females there.

3. Tip at the least 1 dollar every other drink. Tips are like NLP anchors to the bartender.

4. Don't be afraid to buy the bartender a shot.

* Bartenders have this aura around them to women for some reason - they are surrounded by drunks and booze all night - but for some reason they are drinking with you - there must be a reason (yea you bought the shot but that chick at the end of the bar doesn't know that) DHV

5. Don't sit at the bar - stand.

* shows you are or might be ready to leave at any time - builds urgency and helps you on the 3 second rule. If you are standing - easier to go move and mingle.

Some tips I thought I would share. Not necessarily on working a bar but the bar environment does have some rules or good guidelines that I think people should be aware of. Makes it easier to work hired guns (my favorite). If you are savy in the bar - those that work there are more open to you - thats your in on a hired gun.
