If you're sober and you see some girl who can barely keep her balance and you end up fucking her - that's just sleazy. Go find yourself a prostitute - it's the same level of game.

HOWEVER - let's nobody lie. I am sure the following situation has happened to just about everybody. You meet a girl BEFORE she's drunk - you talk and what not, all the while both of you drinking, and you end up getting together. While still not an equal level of game, I don't think that's awful.

As long as it's clear she wants to / wanted to before she was drunk. That is to say, if she's clearly making an effort to avoid you but is all over you when she's drunk - that's a no.

BUT, if you think you might be in with the drunk girl why not just wait for a second meet, number close and tell her you will see her later. Or crash at hers and wait til morning, see how things turn out.

It's that you can get some major DHV if you are talking with her friend and drop a line like "I'm really concerned for your friend (DHV), you should really take care of her (DHV), I wouldn't like to see any guy take advantage of her (DHV)".

It's not sleazy, it's rape. That's not my opinion, consent is invalid when the party giving it is judgementally impaired by a drug such as rufees or alcohol. Not only is this morally wrong, but the girl you "picked up" would be within her rights in the USA to press chages. In a situation like this, it's your word vs. hers and guess what -- no matter what the outcome is, you'll be at the very least publically humiliated.

I'm positive everyone here can tell the difference between having a few drinks to have fun and using alcohol as tool to mess with a woman's judgement and buying temperature. If you have so little self confidence that you can't deal with interacting with women who are not under the influence of some sort of chemical, you've got some serious work to do before you should think about "practicing" having sex.
Hitting on drunk girls is fine. They provide social proof because they're having a good time and probably laughing at every word that comes out of your mouth. Just know where to draw the line between entertaining them and taking advantage of them. It does get old after a while -- I like to talk to people who can remember what I'm talking about and respond with some sort of meaning.
