Openers for the first day of school?

Hey im going to be going to a new school, where I know no-one. So what would be a good opener for a group of girls?

Also, whats a good way to meet people outside of class?

I would'nt worry too much about openers, you'll be put situations where opening will be easy.
If it was me i would just focus on befriending the girls at first (the nice ones)
and that way it will open up a world of opportunity by meeting their friends. And friends of their friends. Plus your the new mysterious guy, so you have advantage. If your seen in the company of other girls then that means your safe and they'll be intrigued as to why this is.
Go situational, ask questions (your new).

Hi, I'm _____ this is my first year at _____ .

Most of the time they should open you anyway. Back when I was in high school, a new kid came into my homeroom senior year. The first day he wore a shirt which made it obvious he was from atlanta, the girls opened him up right away asking about it and w/e. We became cool, he sat next to me, havent seen him since, I am pretty sure he said he was going back south after school.
