This was their plan. But it didn't work out, im 6`2 my friend is 6`0 they did have a weapon and out number us. Maybe even a gun, but they didn't take the risk!

Always when this shit happens

Ignore them, keep walking
Don't look back
Don't look in their eyes
Try to get a full detailed description, their weight height, what they look like, do they have any distinctive marks.

It sucks that it was so damn dark i couldn’t tell anything. I hate situations like this, and I'm looking into martial arts for sure.

Next time they do shit, i want to be the guy that smacks them down. Now at least i can see why women are so paranoid about men. They can't protect themselves and they get millions of losers hitting on them at night time. One of their tricks is going on the mobile phone to avoid contact.

I've been in one of those bad ass crappy situations here in Rotterdam, (so far, there will most likely be more) this is place where things like that happen daily, newspapers don't even bother to repport them anymore. HELL I'm surprised if my bike is still there when I leave it on the street with 3 locks on it.

Anyway I was able to avoid a fight because of what I've learned. I know quite a few bouncers and not all are big, now I combine that which they talk about and advise with framing and basic theory from IN10SE and Derren Brown. I'm pretty sure I can remove any hostile intent from small groups. (2-3 max) might even be able to escpae with my valueables. But just in case I never take my normal phone when I go out. I have an extra crappy phone which I put my sim in when I go out. But I'm thinking of just getting a cheap 10 euro phone + sim. (crappy phone is still quite expensive )

Other then that, I never wear rings, weird clothing, expensive looking clothes. Or carry more then 25 euro with me. Oh and I always throw all the cards that I don't need at that moment out of my wallet :P

I recommend Tae Kwon Do, thats what I'm trained at and work out and im 6'1 sometimes I hope some1 would attack me, so i can kick him in the throat in .1 sec before he can even blink with his eyes :)

I took tae kwan do...and dont get me wrong it has applications, but the thing i disliked about it most was that the idea was to keep your opponent at distance and kick, absolutely 0 defense if your attacked up close.

To be honset no one martial art will give you the tools you need to win a "street fight". MMA, or some form of combined arts (id constitue kickboxing and some things like ju jitsu/grav magraw in here)...this will give you tools to handle all different kinds of attack, these forms usually emphasize handling multiple attackers sometimes with basic weapons being used against you.

granted no one is bruce lee or superman and if a guy pulls a weapon your most likely gonna surrender...but lets just assume 3 punks are gonna stomp on you for fun, at least your gonna put up a fight and maybe walk away with pride and relatively unharmed.

From what i can tell "Tae Kwon Do" by itself alone sucks. I've done some heavy research! And "Ka" is onto something. You see from what i gather and i pick things up very very fast, a martial art by itself is not enough. You need to be multi tasked. For instance you take "Kendo" (Jap sword fighting), and you loose your weapon! then your opponent wrestles you to the ground.. Your screwed. People have trained in different types of martial arts, or mixed martial arts MMA. Bruce Lees "Jeet Kune Do" Philosophy is that you should study the very best moves from anywhere you find them and combine them together in a free flowing motion. He also says that martial arts is not enough, you need the spiritual side of martial arts aswell, and combine them to make a natural fighting form, that you feel accustom to. He believed that styles disadvantage people, because of their different fighting characteristics.

In his case he combined Chinese boxing moves with Kung Foo and other styles. He trained his body all the time and his mind, and constantly went outside his saftey zone to rediscover other fighting styles so he was prepared for everything. That philosophy is good! going outside that, watching hours of youtube videos, I can tell you right away that the one martial art that looks like it seemingly has the best combination of moves close combat and far away, is "Maui Thai".

I think Tae Kwon Do with the discipline of close combat, (2 martial arts) or/and some type of wrestling or close combat kick boxing would kick ass.

Tae Kwon Do vs MMA check it out

The list goes on. But TKD by itself is not enough, TKD with something else would be kick ass.

I have a black belt in al tracy's kenpo....

Tae kwon doe is what we refer to as take my dough.

I recommend that..

I was once in a similar situation but, i had my karate guru with me. I believe i was a brown at the time and their were five of them. Nothing sounds better when you are telling the police that there were 5 of them 2 of you and you smoked them... That definatly shows that you didnt start it. But, we sure as hell finished it.
