I had her right where I wanted her... then with one stupid sentence I blew it; or at the least I'm now treading up a steep slippery slope.

I opened a seated 5 set at my local bar; I was quite proud. Normally--in my preGame days--I would have struck out and cursed myself for being so bold and "silly." At any rate, I won the approval of the group and then after isolating HB7 target, I DHV-ed some more, gained attraction, and then started getting her to qualify herself to me, e.g., "Besides your looks what makes you special? There are other pretty girls here." (I love that one btw. It's so fucking powerful).

Anyway, after a 20 min conversation with light kino, I said confidently, "Ok, your friends look like they want to talk to you. (even though they didn't). I'll be back."

I went to the bathroom; then went to the bar and shot the shit with some ghetto motherfucker who must've been like "wtf is the random dude talking to me?"

I then went back to HB7 who was now surrounded by her friends in a deep discussion, and intervened. I told her, "Hey I have to get going soon, before I go I want to call you. Can you give me your number?" She complied, however, the look on her face was a bit "alright I'll do you the favor." I attribute this to the fact that her 3 closest friends were right there as I asked for her number, which automatically puts someone on a pedestal.

I texted her 20 min later and got a reply, but again, it was somewhat sterile (no smiley faces, etc.).

So here is the moral of the story. When you have a girl in a position to execute a number close or a kiss close then go for it! Don't over complicate things by playing coy and seemingly looking "cool" by putting her on hold. Because guess what? When I came back asking for her number it seemed desperate and unnatural.

That's why I now hae an uphill battle. I have already texted messages back and forth with her but I see a big difference in her tone (she's now the prize) vs. before during our initial convo.
