Hey all -

Met up with a guy I met on the Nashville Yahoo group (RedUnit88) for the first time last night for a few beers at an East
Nashville bar. We didn't plan to 'sarge' or open sets since we had not met
previously. Redunit88 is a cool guy with a similar energy level to mine, we had
a few beers and before we left he told me "you're going to say 'hi' to someone
tonight.'

Now - if you've read my introduction - I'm a pretty shy guy when it comes to
opening strangers and random girls. However, it's now or never and I needed that
extra 'push.'

On the path to the door I saw a 3-set of girls and opened with 'Can I get your
opinion on something? I'm thinking about getting my first tattoo, it's blah blah
blah..." They were receptive and began asking me questions and such and
Redunit88 joined in. Here I made a pretty critical error, I ejected from the set
pre-maturely while Redunit was still talking to them. He kept the conversation
going and I was forced to re-join the set, I had just simply walked off when
they were receptive to us.

I re-joined and started chatting up the one blond girl who seemed into me while
redunit continued keeping the interest of the other two. We swapped it up a few
times and redunit was pretty good at holding each person's interest.

The blond girl began giving me IOIs by touching my leg, arm, etc and this is
where I began to get a little 'skittish.' I wasn't scared but I didn't know how
to return the escalation and this is going to be a sticking point for me (ie:
too much kino, to little - I recently had an experience where I had grabbed a
girls arm and she freaked out). She was qualifying herself to me by telling me
about her job, how much $ she makes (ugh), etc etc.

She showed me something on my phone so I took it and she asked me what I was
doing, I told her "I'm putting my number in," and she gave me a big smile. I
put my number in as Badass. We continued to flirt more and talk to each member
of the group, they all seemed pretty cool.

The blond asked me a few times that I "needed" to buy her a drink. I refused and
told her that she should buy me one here. I think I could have got blown out
here as I didn't know how to react. I had her give me a coin and said "heads or
tails" she kept asking me why but I ignored her. She got heads so I had to buy
her a drink but she had already got one so I got shots for redunit and I.

Here I felt it was getting late so I wanted to eject before they did. The blond
hugged me and said 'she was so glad to meet me'. She was giving me a lot of eye
contact and kino so I believe if I isolated I could have k-closed or brought her home. My fear stopped me here and the escalation is going to be a sticking point for me.

seems like an overall pretty successful night, and that the only problem was you psyching your self out!! you got game, so when shit starts to seem to go your way, just let it keep going your way, relax and enjoy the ride, i do agree thou that kino escalation can get a bit nerve racking since everyones different, but the general rule of thumb is that if she initiates the contact, you can return up to that point and try to escalate it a little more. Now i noticed you at different points kept leaving the set, in situations like that, try to bring her with you and separate her from it as well, and then your not just standing awkwardly, but now your in a position to K-close or escalate the physical touch a little, which is defiantly something that could be considered a success!! but all in all great job and keep up the work man!

You see, your interaction went pretty well. If the night has taught you anything it should be this: it's all in your head. Once you can relax about talking to girls without making it something "special" or "extraordinary" you'll be fine without many gimmicks.

I find, girls are curious, fun, and rather friendly. Just realize that you're both pulling in the same direction. For the most part, you don't need to work any magic. Just say hi and don't commit any blunders.
