2011-07-28 Field Report

Went to Rosie's with confidence like I owned the place. Just danced and talked to the hottest girls I saw on the dance floor. Also talked to random girls. I had two targets who were in my opinion the two hottest girls in the club, that were in different 4-sets.

Bachelorette Party liked talking to me but we couldn't hear each other. I danced with her and her friends for a few minutes then wandered off. As I opened other sets on the dance floor, I could see her watching me.

Shy got her friends to dance around me and she hid behind them. Later I came over to talk to her but she ducked behind her friends and the alpha-woman (nice girl, but obviously the cock block) came and absorbed my lines. So I don't know what Shy's problem was, I kind of lost interest in her.

As I was leaving, Bachelorette Party and her 3 hot friends were sitting at a table. The hottest girls in the club sitting there, and no guys were talking to them! So I came over (because I had already talked to her, I was not even nervous) and asked what kind of party they were there for. Finally I found out it was a bachelorette party. I said congrats to the bachelorette and made some unmemorable small-talk. All 4 girls were looking at me and smiling, but I didn't know how to entertain them. Probably I didn't need to and I would have been better off just going straight to my target and talking to her. Anyways, I couldn't really think of stuff to say to 4 girls all watching me, so I just ejected. They looked surprised that they were showing interest and yet I just bailed on them, but I don't care. It's baby steps for this n00b.

Yeah that's rough to know you have their full attention but you don't know what to say. The trick is paying very close attention to the girls. One will have some quirk, or some reaction that is worth bringing up, and cold reads like that are very valuable.

Example: Last night I wasn't sarging at all, but just hanging out with some friends at their house. A couple I hadn't met before was over, and the boyfriend was teasing his girl about their mutual friend. The friend had gone to her and said that he liked a girl with a boyfriend (apparently her). As he said this, I watched his girl, and based on her reaction, I knew that she was also aware that the guy liked her. I commented on it and the conversation spiked, she became much more engaged and started talking rapidly.

I hope that story wasn't confusing, but the trick is just watching to see what they give you to talk about. There will always be something.

Yeah thanks I'll watch closer for emotional cues and interest spikes. I think that part needs practice and is maybe easier to do with one person than 4, I don't know.

I can think of lots of stuff I could have said now, and actually I thought of it in the moment too, but the little voice in my head filtered it. Basically I thought of using one of the "my friend just got engaged" openers and that would have been fine to move the convo forward even though I was beyond opening already.

So it may come with more practice and confidence that whatever comes out is fine.

I still don't know how I would have been able to isolate the target from there though. Hence the idea to just go right in on her specifically which would have worked given the friends' vibes were cool and not cock-blocky.

I should also mention that I got IOIs or AIs from many other chicks, one older HB7 even came and touched my package while making eye contact. So I could have gone home with someone but I guess I am more interested in tight game than easy lays. I just wonder if a n00b like me should start off so picky.

Yeah my goal is always to say what helps stimulate the group conversation, even just an insightful question that draws out more of the story. Anytime you're focused on having the "right" thing to say, or saying something worthwhile, you won't succeed.

It's cool to be picky, and if you don't really want a girl, definitely don't get with her, but there is last minute resistance, the logistics of isolation, all that sort of stuff, that you should practice conquering so that the perfect girl doesn't slip through your fingers because you don't know what to do at that stage.
