So... I was out with a few friends at a bar that's a complete shitshow in DC. Huge dancefloor where everyone is sweaty and making out.

It's towards the end of the night, and I see a HB9 dancing on top of a booth with a couple of friends around (2 girls, 1 guy) towards the back of the bar. I walk up and just go, "I like you" in the most nonchalant and matter of fact way I've ever said anything. Seriously, as if we've been dating for months and I finally say it to her. I see her defenses are completely down. I grab her hand and help her down from the booth, and this intimidates her friends to walk away so its just us two. She says, "So I guess you want my number." And I go, "I only want it if you like me, too." She immediately gives me the digits and starts to walk away. I hold onto her a little bit longer (I'm pretty drunk, so I don't even really know WHY I'm holding onto her long), and SHE goes in for the kiss. I kid you not. She goes in for the kiss and then runs away like a giddy schoolgirl.

PROBLEMATICALLY, I text later just be like here's my number and to give her my name. Then, I get "You have the wrong number" as a text back. Kind of heartbreaking...I guess pua is never that easy. I also wonder...you think she gave me the fake number, or you think it was just bad luck and drunkenness?

I'm eager to hear others field test this line...if done right, it seems like it can just drop panties. : )

Buyer's remorse?

I think that she was the type of girl that likes on night stands or makeout sessions in a club. The ones that don't want to involve themselves in a relationship with a drunk man(No offense to you here, just throwing this out there). It's possible she did give you do wrong number or she regrets giving you the real one, in which she responds that it's not the right one. What you should do is forget about what happened, delete the shit number and move on and continue sarging. I wouldn't dwell too much on it.

I say keep using the same line you used. Try to discern the differences and similarities that it can bring you. But don't do it drunk, be sober and do it with confidence. That alone can improve your chances. Women like a confident guy rather than a drunk one.
