With all the research I've done over the past couple weeks I figured I could put it to use Saturday at my college's football game. Not normally shy, the things I've taken from the game have been a framework for how to lead a convo of which I would have opened anyways.. So although I couldn't close my first attempt I feel as if I'm making some progress so here goes

My AFC roommate from last semester who dropped out, drove up and wanted to attend the game with me. Seeing how I just recently broke up with my girlfriend of 9 months, I'm in the rebuilding stages of my social circle and didnt really have the options of who to go with that I would have normally so it was just me and him.

We get in and grab our seats next to what appeared to be a two set HB7 and 6. My buddy and I are chatting about random stuff football related and I look over and notice my target adjacent to me (the 7) was standing on the bleachers barefoot.

Me: (Sim'd losing balance standing on bleachers) Going barefoot helping with your balance over there?
HB7: Haha yeeah whats your name?
Me: Lash, and yours?
HB7: Emily, im so excited about this game blah blah...

We go back and forth for a bit talking about majors and what year we are, allowing me to insert DHV spikes between me turning away from her to my buddy making random convo about the game.. I knew this would be tough to pace the convo seeing how we were in for a whole game sitting next to each other without an easy rolloff.. but I pressed through

I soon managed to bring in the obstacle by mentioning her taking an obscene amount of pics which ended up she was trying to get a very specific picture.. (thought of bringing in the cam to take pics of us and them but didnt)

As the game progressed there was kino after scores with high fives and playful nudges until her and her friend wanted to catch the sunset midway through the 2nd quarter and left saying they'd be right back.. They had come with a large group all on our row so I knew she was locked in, but they took an entire quarter b4 they returned.. I opened sets behind and in front of me just to build social proof which by the end I had everyone at my service to carry on conversations..

The girls finally returned by the start of the 4th and came back, switching seats so now the obstacle was adjacent to me.. I bantered with the obstacle about her "photography" but I couldn't lock in like with the target.. I feel this was one of my mistakes that I focused too much attention on the target and couldn't draw the obstacle in as well..

The target glimpsed over here and there and made remarks targetted to me until the end of the game.. I planned on leaving b4 them to give them the appearance that I wasnt waiting for them nor did I want to seem eager.. so I made reference to us leaving soon and then followed through saying

Me:"Well its been fun, we've gotta get outta here..."
Target:"Alright well take care and have fun!"

Looking back now I dont know how I could have pushed the close seeing how the obstacle was between us..

Sidenotes: There was a guy of the group that seemed to be close with both of the girls.. he would come in and out and stand behind them and chat nonflirtingly.. I considered opening him and merging the set but I couldnt catch a break in their conversations.. never did get his tye-in to the girls.. however he was left standing next to me when the girls went to catch the sunset..

It seems to me that there was chemistry built between me and the target but with the obstacle and the setting it wasnt conducive for a close.. What do yall think? Thanks for the patience for the read

Not bad dude, im in Highschool so i cant exactly go "clubbin" and have thought about football games as the best venue for sarging seems like you did all you could.

Just curious how did you open the other sets around yoU?

Hey man yeah its not a bad idea just the methods need to be tweaked a bit.. oh and the other sets i opened:

1 was a 2 set of HB4s in front who I opened by commenting on this ridiculous snow cone they bought for 5 bucks that was piled up like crazy and the one girl was eating it all wrong.. the other sets were mostly guys who I made remarks like what was the team thinking with that call and so forth.. followed through in media timeouts to keep the sets open.. never merged though but had access to 4 different ones
