Saw this cute girl working is a shop.. the kind of shop that sells dvds and vcds.. for movies.. so i went to her

Me: do you have any nice movies to recommend?
She: Do you want rental or buying the dvds..
Me: Rental
She shows me to the place whereby the dvd was placed.
Me: So what kind of movies is good nowdays?
Never speak much but keep on smiling and points to me to all kinds of violent show (Is this an IOI?)
Me: NOO i am not the kind who likes violent.. it will get me addicted and going ard beating people. and btw i am a gentlman (I smiled)
She: hahahahaha
Me: why not shows me some of the old movies??

Me: Is that all you have? I guess you worked here not long eh?

So i quickly think of a line
Me: Hey thanks for your help.. its really nice of you.. So whats your name anyway? She: (Stunned) ohhh jasmine..

you did well till you asked for her name.

i myself have a rule with cold contacts, or any contacts i dont have a common friend with: i never ask for their name in the first 5-10 mins of convo, and her name isnt important.

you should have continued with a dhv story, routine, or simply some sexy small talk. people take about 5-10 mins to get warmed up to a convo, so get ready to be doing 90% (yes, 90%) of the talking during that time period.

those are tips you could use for your other approaches, hot or cold.

for this specific case, she is working at a shop. generally, i never like to game or practise game on service staff because:

1) They are paid to be friendly. you dont know what's real or not. if you have worked in the customer service line before, you would know that when you are smiling and having a 'fun' convo with a customer, you may not be truly enjoying it inside.

2) they are busy. ok, if its an empty shop run by some bored out of her wits girl then its fine, but it appears, she is busy. that is why she turned away. she has other customers to take care of. if you talk to her for too long, her boss may find out and she may get into trouble. uh-oh, you dont want that. so next time, keep it real short.

what you could have done is to say something like, "hey, i need to rush off, by the way what's your name? jasmine....alright, im (introduce yourself here, shake her hand nicely) will you be here tmr (or any time you want to drop by again), okay...i might drop by again to get some stuff, hope to see you."

notice i inserted a false time constraint (hey i need to rush off now...), so its okay to get her name.

an even better bet is to cold read her, maybe say something you noticed about her that is unique, then say, ok, i'll back later, then dont come back.

just leave her remembering you, and you will get her again. next time you go back, remember to prepare some dhv funny story, routines and stuff like that to go along. you will need to hook her this time, and get the contact close. anything, ask me or any of the other forumers here.

bad idea to pick up her at work place ! you should wait until she will finish ! Most of the girls will not go forward at a work place even if you nice guy they dont look at you like an object to date with at work.... you should know that. A lot more chances to get her after work.

Sounds to me like a classic case of misinterpreting signals.

I could tell immediately that what you thought were IOIs were really just confidence boosters for her. They are very similar and take a trained eye to catch.

I do it all the time. When I realize a girl is hitting on me, I smile because I enjoy the fact that I caught it and I enjoy the flirting. That doesn't mean it will go somewhere as it depends on if I am attracted to her.
