Hey Guys,
I moved my ass across Canada about a month ago from the GTA in Ontario, to reside in Edmonton, AB to look for work and improve my game as well as myself. I've been attempting everything like it was a half hearted hobby, so I figure if this helps me get this part of my life handled, maybe I'll get the other in order.
Anyways, saturday started off pretty hilarious so i might as begin from there. I went to get my first haircut since I took off from home and had an entertaining experience watching a domestic disturbance at a Supercuts. Some Native woman was chewing out the whole staff and making a giant scene about her son's haircut when her kid wouldn't speak up. I had fun after they left cutting them up with the hairdresser that got the most involved in the battle. Turns out she had overheard that the women was talking to her son and said she wasn't going to pay for each haircut they were getting. I find that shit funny, so it put me in a good mood to finally explore my new surroundings and check out where the best watering holes are in Edmonton.
I ended up downtown at this joint called the Black Dog, since some columnist had suggested that it was one of the Top 10 joints in town. I really wasn't that impressed. Besides having a decent live two-man folk band playing on stage, the place was a dive. Sorta a hole in the wall pub that is best to go with a few friends and share a pint. Anyways, I decided to give it a shot and ordered a pint.
I sat down at the bar furthest from the band, near some pathetic looking 40+ year old guys to enjoy my drink. A punk athletic chick walks in and starts talking to the bartender like she was a usual customer. I wasn't into her at all, since she really wasn't my type, but she was a HB6. Anyways she sits down at the end of the bar on my end, pulls out her bags and pulls out a Red Cross First Aid handbook and starts reading it over her drink.
I figured it was time to practice pickup so I asked her if she was taking the CPR course with Red Cross. She was kinda surprised I knew that and I explained to her that I had taken that exact course a few years back through a friend. We then got into talking about school, where she worked, what I was doing in Edmonton, Blah blah blah. Anyways, after a few minutes her greasy long-haired boyfriend shows up and she completely ignores me now and starts talking to him. About that time I finished up my pint, and since its in my nature, and tried to say goodbye. Anyways, she either didn't hear me or ignored me, so feeling very chump-ish I turned around, crossed the bar and walked out the door.
I failed for multiple reasons. First, I didn't make any jokes, and just had a serious conversation like she was a friend. I didn't tease her, neg her, or make myself attractive to her at all. I guess I was just so caught up in actually talking to my first complete stranger in weeks that I didn't focus on why I was practicing on her in the first place. Her boyfriend was more important and I hadn't really got anywhere with her.
I'm going to look at this in positive light though, since I'm working to become a PUA and a successful confident person. I didn't really want her in the first place, and I shouldn't take it to heart that she rejected me. She just rejected my game, which needs major improvement. Gotta break a few eggs to make an omelett right?
Anyways, I'm attempting to complete Style's Life challenge without cheating, so I'm starting on Day 1 again today. This will be like my Fourth attempt. Still haven't passed Day 3 yet. HAHAH Oh well, time to get my ass in gear.
