So, last week I've taken a holiday to Cairns, being in a strict all boy boarding house I don't get out much, hey it was great to be free. I wouldn't go so far as to say that the picking up was a great success, but I sure as hell learnt a few things. So i'll start at the start (Oh, and just off the side, Cairns was a fantastic place to holiday, best spot in Australia I reckon, definitely go there)

My first lesson came on the beach when I was just cruising with my friend, there weren't many babes but there was still the occasional one or two. Now, iv'e had some crazy pick up experiences before (e.g. a week after being dumped, I managed to get my tongue down my ex that dumped me, her best friend, and a random on the tram going home, all within around 2 hours - but that's a whole other story) so my friend expects me to know the ropes, hell, I expected I knew the ropes.
But, taken way out of my comfort zone with these older women, I choked. It was a tiny window of oppurtunity and I missed it. So I realized something>

Lesson 1: Real gaming is nothing like high school, it's a whole new battlefield.
I inflated my ego so much I didn't realize how different girls in high school are. Flirting and scoring with girls isn't game, it's just finding common interests and exposing them. Turning a girl on shortly after meeting her isn't skill, it's simply what happens. I'm still a newbie when it comes to real women.


So, the next day I cruised the beach again except with my head in the right place, I need to push myself out of my comfort zone. My friend was bugging me about how I must have fluked all the other girls so I did something very stupid. It was a very valuable lesson but it was still very AFC. Three babes on the beach, none else anywhere in sight, so I went up to them with the easiest but worst line in history.

Me: Hi, my friend thinks you're cute.
HB: *laughs* (in a good way)

After that I just turned around and walked the other way, I guess I just wanted to make that initial connection before coming back. But I came to my second realisation>

Lesson 2: Women in groups are friendly if you show the confidence to walk up and talk to them.
When I was younger I would try to walk up and talk to girls in town at night, stuttering, looking down a lot and always running out of things to say. You can guess the reaction, cold, not interested, etc. I guess that started my interest in the game. It was so wierd to see a good reaction when I walked up to them.


As you can guess walking back along the beach I approached these women again, my friend wouldn't go up to them, i tried convincing him, when he said fine i laughed a little too loudly and they heard, and may have thought it was a little weird. I walked up to them anyway and I was straight into the AFC lines

Me: Well, since I didn't quite embarrass my friend enough last time I thought I might come up and talk to you some more.
HB: *laughs* (may have said something like 'OK then')
Me: So are you guys from around here or what?
HB: No, we are from brazil
Me: Brazil? Wow, that is really cool, what brings you down under?

etc etc it was all basic fluff talk and eventually I ran out of things to say and she was the one to say 'see you later' after i pretty much asked the same thing twice. Terrible for a PUA, crazy balls for an AFC, I learnt a few things from this>

Lesson 3: You don't need to have a crazy opener to sweep her off her feet, you just need a confident smile and a simple hello with a question (an interesting one)
I found it extremely easy to remain talking confidently even if my material was shocking. Man I tell you, it felt amazing to be doing all that successfully. And these girls were way out of my league.

Lesson 4: Brazilian girls are hot.
What? They are.

So the next day I was on a Cruise and I started talking to this girl when she said 'hey your the guy from the restaurant aren't you? (her friends said the same thing) I mean, I was giving out my 'single and looking' look but no fish were biting. Yet she made some sort of emotional connection with me, even without contact. So, that brings me to>

Lesson 5: Even if girls don't seem to be going for you, it doesn't mean they aren't looking
It's just a self confidence thing, it's nice to realize that girls are looking at you in that way

~Oh, and same boat, there was a girl from Auckland and we smiled at each other every now and then and I came up to her with 'Do I know you from somewhere, you look familiar'. Thought of it on the spot, it worked perfectly, I don't know if others already use it but it's really good > See Lesson 3

Now, after that I bought myself some aviators, a checkered jazz hat, spiked florescent orange thongs and of course kept my wooden leaf necklace (I love it, I want to change my name to lief but I don't know how). You would not believe how many girls have just come up to me and told me how much they love each piece of clothing - mainly the thongs. So, as much as I hate to admit it >

Lesson 6: Peacocking works.
We've all read 'The Game'. We all know what i'm talking about. It's the best way I can put it, wearing something crazy fun just seems to make the girls come to you.

Well, that's it. My dip into the world of pick-up. Any newbies definitely need to read this because it's handy knowing this stuff before you experience it. Other than that I just want to add one more thing.

Lesson 7: Training to be a Pick Up Artist is difficult
And hell, I'm gonna make it or else fail at my best
