OK, so I'm at the Gym and I'm breaking the freakin' 3-second rule. That's my sticking point, I always hesitate and regret it later for not approaching a girl.

Well, last night, after missing 3 opportunities to open 7+s (like a chump), I see this asian 8 working on a machine across from me. As she gets up to move to another machine I notice she's wearing a shirt with a bird on it and some writing. At first I thought it was one of the gimmick/joke shirts.

Evoke: Turn around, what does your shirt say?
A8: (turns around and pumps her chest out so I can read it)
shirt reads: "All the hassle to get a tassle"....(it's a high school grad shirt from 04')
Evoke: Ah, thought it was one of those joke shirts.

Go on to tell her how I like reading them and that my ex got me into them when she bought me a few shirts...describe them to her...get some laughs.

At this point, I start paying attention to her body (which was pretty shapely for an asian) and MY MIND GOES BLANK! DAMN.

Evoke: I think you should get on the machine before someone else takes it.

I continue on my workout. First, I went blank and second, thought it would show disinterest. As she passes me later, she smiles.

Evoke: What kind of bird is that? A Quail?
A8: Uh...I don't know.
Evoke: Didn't you go there?
A8: Yeah, but only for my senior year and I don't remember now.
Evoke: Seems like they should've kept you for an extra year (smile).

I got up at this point, cuz someone else was waiting for the machine, so I lean up against another machine and continue talking to her. She's studying to be a nurse...blah, blah, blah.

Anyways, I end up telling her that I need to finish up (was already running late) and walk away. I didn't have the balls to close her in anyway.....she did look surprised that I just walked away like that.

I've seen her in the Gym before, so I'm sure I'll see her again.

Anyways, any comments, criticism or suggestions on how I could've been smoother?

What's the next step considering I stepped away?
