Last night I went to chill with a buddy of mine at a karaoke joint. The main purpose of the night was to chill with him, and not actively sarge, but sometimes shit happens
So I go up to sing "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica. Before the song starts, I say "This song goes out to... fuck it, this song goes out to anyone who'll listen". This one girl in the crowd (HBFriend) yells "Make it out to her (pointing at friend - let's call her HBTarget)! It's her birthday today!!" and I reply "Alright, I'll make this song out to her (I point at HBTarget) since she's kinda cute" and then I proceed to sing the song.
It probably helps that I actually CAN sing, and I get really into the song; being in my own reality and all - complete with some cheezy air guitar during the solo. My initial DHV / social proof since during the song quite a couple of HBs are looking at me complete with the dowey-eyed, almost DDB look.
I finish the song and go back to drinking with my friend. A couple of minutes later, I see HBFriend and HBTarget taking a picture, so I go up to them and say "Hey - hold on a minute. You need at least ONE good-looking black guy in your pictures" and I take a picture with HBTarget. She proceeds to say something about how I thought she was cute and I ask her how old she is. She says 21 and I say "aww that's too bad... you're a bit too young for me". HBFriend says "Well, I'm 22!" and she gets the same response from me. HBTarget tries prying my age from me and I playfully deflect her questions and eventually walk away with a look and cheeky playful smile like "I guess you'll never know!"
Again, I go back to my friend to drink. A few minutes later, HBTarget comes up and again tries to get my age and asks me why she's too young for me. I eventually tell her my age and we get into a semi-serious conversation about age and maturity, I actively disqualified her by saying that I'm kinda tired of being with girls her age and how I need a more mature girl blablablah. She says that even though she's young, that means she's "fun" and I say that a person can be both fun and mature. I do give her a window of opportunity by saying "I don't know you personally, you could be both fun and mature, but I'm just going by my past experiences" thus setting up a bit of a challenge. Eventually she decides to go back to her friends and kisses me on the cheek or something. I say "No, you've gotta kiss me better than that".
k-close.
