So I was working on a commercial and one of the scouting agency girl was hanging around the set all day. She's walked by me several times we didn't say any thing to each other. I was there at 7am and now it's 3pm and I finally got my chance.

I was sitting down on a ledge in front of the Los Angeles Library waiting for camera and lighting set up and then...

Her: Oh there's shade here now.

Me: yep

"She sits like 5 feet from me

3 seconds pass, well there goes the 3 second rule. It was like a good 2-3 mins before I tell myself, "what the fuck am I doing? I'm being a chump!" I see a perfect opener, 3 japanese tourist taking pictures of the statues.

Me: Wow I never realized there's so many tourist here.

Her: Ya I was thinking the same thing.

Me: Ya I would've never guessed, surprisingly I lived here for 2 years and haven't even been here before.

Her: (laughs) Ya I was surprised it's such a nice place. Did you take a look inside?

Me: Ya it's nice, who would've thought?

Her: You know where there's a lot of tourists as well? Universal City Walk.

Me: Ya, my friend lives right next to it, she says she sees tourists there all the time.

Her: Ya it's pretty crazy

Me: So what do you do on this set? All I see you do is stand around and do nothing.

Her: Oh I'm with the scouting agency.

So it went on like this for like 10 more mins until I got called to the set. She did the boyfriend test, but it didn't phase me, I just kept it going, but that did kinda put me at loss of words a couple minutes later.

She seemed interested in talkin to me too, but I chickened out on asking for her # later on that night when she said bye to me going to her car.

I'm a douche and a half but I still opened and I'm proud of that. Baby steps. Baby steps.

It's a start. At least you opened. I was at a bar yesterday that must've had a 3:1 girl-to-guy ratio, lots of cute girls, 3 that I REALLY wanted to approached yet I did nothing. At least you approached, good job.
