Had a day 2 date from an online profile after some witty banter and a few phone calls. Wasn't the best date I've been on but wasn't the worst. The girl is Vietnamese, a few years younger than me, and a medical resident at the one large medical center in my city. She has actually pursued me a little bit which is different - I'm not used to being pursued. She is OK cute, but asian and that doesn't really do it for me. No offense to anyone asian but asian girls don't turn me on.

The only reason I went out with her is because I could tell from over email that she has a very sharp wit and an interesting personality. I don't know how to rate her - I guess guys who like asian girls would rate her a 7 or 8 - she is very pretty, petite, curvy in the right places. But I am not even minimally attracted to her and I'm sure it showed because she actually picked up on it by the end of our date and called me on it. She's pretty cool but I don't see her in my romantic future and make it pretty clear that she was squarely in the friendzone. She seemed to be OK with it since most of her male friends are gay and she needs to get out more and interact with straight guys.

She tried to make it out like I wasn't comfortable in my skin around her or something, and I fessed up towards the end that I thought she was a cool person but my interest lies only in a social friendship. There was just no sexual spark, and I think that's what she picked up on. She seemed cool with it - left with a hug and she went off to meet some friends for a movie or something. I am thinking if nothing else, this is a girl who likes to go out and meet guys, and maybe she can be groomed into a good female wing which is like the ace in the hole when it comes to opening sets.

Just thought I'd share because I felt like the rest of the evening was uneventful and sort of a disaster. There were NO ONE in the other bars and I'm not sure why. There was very wild weather last night and a lot of people still dont have power. I was thinking that maybe that would drive *more* people out but it looks like it was just the opposite.
