okay so no joke, i'm out with my boys one night at this bar downtown san jose. one of em says, "yeah this place is cool but all the girls here are with they're boyfriends." i look around the place and start to notice a few things. these chicks aint with they're boyfriends! i mean yeah i'm sure some of them are but for the most part girls seem to go out in a girls night out type situation or with co workers or some other shit.

so i'm buzzin (and yeah i know thats not the ideal way to sarge but fuck it, it was dudes night out!) and i approach what i think is an odd set: two preppy chicks in some convo with a cholo dude. because i've read so many god damn body language books in preparation for sarging, even a lil buzzed i'm able to read theres some bad vibes going on, so i go up to the chick and say, " hey look my friend just said this place is cool but everyone here is coupled up. now ive been pluggin this bar here for a while trying to get him out and i dont want to give him any wrong ideas about the place, so if you dont mind me asking, how long have you two known each other?

now note i'm not just speaking to the girl here, i'm smiling and keeping eye contact with cholo dude too as to not seem like i'm just tryin to hit on his gal.
" oh, we just met tonight," she says turning away from him. i can tell by her almost over enthusiasticness to stop talking to the guy and talk to me that i had somehow just saved her from a bad pick up. from there i comment on her portuguise tat she's got on her back (a frind of mine had just got back from portugal so i basically used his stories to relate to her homeland)

so everythings going well for a while, although i'm starting to run out of shit to say, when one of my friends starts to get rowdy and pretty much gets thrown out of the bar. me being the ride and all i had to go to, but what sucks the most...no # close. i know i know but i was relatively new to pu at the time and hadnt really internalized it yet. hell i'm still working on it. but! the best part came later on in the night

On running out of things to say: get some canned material. When I was new I was wary to use it too, simply because I had, had a small amount of success with women pre-PU. But now I am just coming around to canned stuff--it is a necessary crutch in the beginning. Canned material is great because you can pack a lot of punch in a very short amount of time. At least have some to fallback on.
