So I read Double Your Dating awhile ago and worked on rules of attraction, cocky funny, blah blah blah. That has proven fairly successful for me. Recently I read the game and decided to try a more routine approach to opening. Last night I go to a party and open a 2-set with this routine:

Me: Hey I just wanted to get a female opinion on something real quick. My friends about to move in with his girlfriend but still has pictures of his ex. Do you think he should get rid of them?

Girl1: Sounds like something off VH1.

Girl2: Yeah he should definitely get rid of the pictures before moving in. I don't think he should move in with his girlfriend anyways.

Me: Yeah thats what I thought to.




But the rAFC in me was caught off guard by Girl1's response of VH1. I had heard about Mystery's show but hadn't watched it. So in summation, I think I need to watch this show and find out what's being used on there to avoid this mistake again. Secondly, I think I should have gone with her response more, something like "Oh yeah, I saw that too, I just wanted to see if that actually worked on girls." Lastly, that kinda freaked me out for the whole night and I didn't want to risk using it on another girl since it was on national TV apparently.

Question for the community: Do you think with this all coming to mainstream that the tactics/routines used will become apparent to the girls?

If you understand WHY certain openers work, you can make your own. Like the jealous gf opener, it has some special qualities. It's a situation that a lot of girls have either been in or can relate pretty readily to. Another part of it is that it's DRAMA. Girls eat that shit up like rice cakes. The next part of the opener is to sort of "cheat" by being in a conversation with the girls before they have a chance to reject you, since, if the opener is solid enough, they'll be intrigued by the situation you present in the opener and will want to give their opinion about it (good openers should have some sort of story-telling element in it).

So you've got:
1. Situation girls will relate to (the whole point of asking their opinion on it - they won't care about their opinion of it if they can't relate to it)
2. Drama
3. Some sort of back story

Second, if you're concerned about using a canned opener/routine, like I said in another post, just mention that you read about it/saw it on TV before going into the routine. This doesn't make it any less effective.
