This happened last week and was one of my first cold approaches.
Okay so went to the plaza to get the new Heroes DVD. A bus ticket (not concession fare) and $70 later I got it. Decide while I’m here I might as well go have a look at some dress shoes, so I can stop wearing the Jordan’s I’ve had for the last year everywhere. Nothing good in Taro cash or Rodger David. Go to Myer and find these cool brown, pointed toe ones.
The clerk comes and asks me if I need help looking for anything. I turn around and see her. She is this short, busty brunette, with puppy dog eyes and a smile that made me feel… idk happy inside I guess she must have been about 20ish or so.
She asks me what I need the shoes for and I say just to wear neatly/casually around. She makes some smartass comment about how my Jordan’s and my shirt isn’t neat. I reply with ‘hahahaha how can you be telling me about neat with your hair like that’. I give her a little smile and a quick wink.
LET THE GAME BEGIN!!!
She starts telling me that no one my age ever comes in looking for dress shoes to wear casually and I reply with there is no one like me. Another smile and wink. She loves it and goes off to find me my size in two different pairs of shoes that I was looking at so I could try them on.
Comes back and I try them on and she asks me if I wanted them to look good, or if I wanted something more comfortable. I tell her that if I feel good and comfortable in my shoes, then no matter what they look like, others will like them as well. I then tell her a story about two friends of mine who are identical twins.
“Yeah some friends of mine are twins yeah. We all went to this costume party and they both decided to go as hot nurses. (LOLOLOL this is not bullshit) Now Sebastian is a real party boy and is always meeting new girls and always has a good time when he is out and really doesn’t give a shit what others think because he is always having the most fun. And Abraham is very conservative and try’s to get people to like him by being really nice. Now they both wore the exact same costume and Abraham looked absolutely like a dick head in the outfit, while his IDENTICAL twin brother Sebastian look cool and relaxed. It more about weather or not you are going to care what others think, or just take chances and have the most fun and take things for yourself.”
We start talking about how she had a similar experience with her friend who wore the same dress to a club one night and how she got a scar on her arm from the two getting mixed up by some drunk guy. I use this as my first chance to kino her by rubbing the part of her are gently for a second, then when she liked it I let go to build tension. I know that kino 10 minutes into an interaction is bad, but hey at least I tried.
I tell her that I want to go to some other stores to have a look around and tell her that I wish we could keep talking to each other. She invites me to go to Mynt (club in melbourne) with her later after she finishes but I decline because i had other things to do. I pull out my phone and hand it to her and she puts her number in. Kelly. Kelly the Myer shoe clerk. So after I get her number I was about to leave but remember that it’s a lot easier to get less flakes if you continue talking after getting the number, so I ask her why she is going to Mynt. She says that her and some friends are just going to have a little dance. We start talking about how she loves to dance and used to dance in a R’n’B group or something when she was younger.
End up saying bye and that I need to go look for my shoes (I wanted to stay and she wanted me to as well but I wanted her to miss the interaction we had and leave her wanting more.)
