i was watching a film tonight with my wing Fakedrake. We hadn't planned any sarging, just in the local summer cinema. And by the time we sat.. boom! a two set with to hb's (9 and an 8-or at least we thought so-). As we rehearsed our openers and were about to deliver them at the intermission, boom!! the second surprise, when the lights turn on, it was an hb 9 with her mother.. geez.. That was our stick point. Any suggestions on what we should have done? I mean, we proceed or we back up due to the "mom" cockblocker..

u r pretty right on a second thought.
to be honest i was ready to wing TNT on a two set and get away the "8"(she looked pretty young in the dark and from behind)...
it was a shock to face an old lady instead.
ill have to work on managing such surprises.

something else: is there an opener which can work nicely in such an occasion?
i mean isnt it a little too much to say "hey i need a female opinion on this blah blah..." talking to an old lady(trying to push the target and neutralize the obstacle)
not that i really care anymore but a pua should be ready, right?

Older girls, I tend to throw in a spot of flattery. Instead of focusing on the target, I'll say to her mom: "Hey, I need a pretty girl's opinion on something" and run into my first opener. I love mixed-age sets. They're great fun.
