Ok so I went to somebodies 18th last weekend. Didn't know it was invite only but somehow got in anyway despite not knowing half the people there. I decided I wasn't even gonna try pick up at this party, especially not Mystery Method (which, in my somewhat humble newbish opinion, only seems to work if you're damn good at it) as this party was solely to catch up with some old friends who I hadn't really hung out with since I got with my ex and social life pretty much died as a result of intense pussywhipping.
Anyway I got drunk very quick, stripped to my boxers and jumped in the pool. Got out jumped back in. Repeated a few times. Some people followed my lead and we had some fun splashing people and shit.
Anyway I hop out and start telling some stories about Brisbane to some of the guys. At this point I'm still in just my boxers with a beer in one hand. Nothing gay about that.
Anyway this chick comes up to me and I think 'hang on I know her from somewhere' and She says
"Hey I'm Sarah, I've met you before though, remember the bus stop?"
So we shake hands and I'm thinking wtf I don't remember.
And then I remember a beach party AGES ago at which I got extremely high and very nearly passed out at a bus stop which earned me the somewhat retarded nickname 'Sleepy Jacob'
And then it dawns on me that this chick is one of my good friends exs so pow! She's off limits.
Our hands linger for a little bit too long but we're maintaining eye contact and she doesn't seem too bothered.
So I say something like
"Yea nice to meet you again"
And turn my back on her, bail, and grab another beer.
Anyway every time I stop and chat to someone she kind of pops up next to me and acts all casual as if she's not following me around so I kept wandering off and talking to other people.
I have to ignore her because she's fuckin HOT like a 9/10 and I haven't had sex in about a week so I'm busting a nut just looking at her.
I start chatting to this other girl who's also called Sarah who I'll call Sarah 2 and she keeps touching my arm and stuff so I lead her over to the sofa and sit her down with a bunch of people next to us and put my arm round her so my hand's on her waist. She doesn't mind for a while and then she suddenly tenses up and slide my hand off and make it so my leg's not touching hers either.
Then this woman who's standing forward and to the left of us says something like
"I'm watching you mate. Don't try anything with my daughter."
But she's laughing so it's a half joke and after a short while I bail and start talking to some other people. Then my friend Tom introduces me to the person who's b'day it actually is, this chick called Jamie who happens to be Sarah 2's sister. For some reason she wanted a hug so I gave her one and she grabbed on extremely tight and practically dragged me to the ground. Then one of her friends wanted one too so I gave her one and she kind of subtly rubbed her crotch against my hip. So I was a bit confused and they were standing there with these big smiles and burning red cheeks when Sarah 1 (my friends ex) came along and basically scared them away.
Later on that night Sarah 1 was extremely drunk and this ugly kid called Hayden was practically trying to rape her by the pool while she was quite obviously not into it. So I went over, slipped an arm round her waist and led her away and put her on a seat. She had no objection to this and then just sat there smiling at me so I left her there and drank some more.

I can't remember much else of that night except getting in a car with a drunk driver who was surprisingly co-ordinated (don't do it kids!), pissing on a few cars, vomiting on and off for about an hour (fingers down the throat and puke pouring out my mouth AND nose, the whole deal), and then blacking out on some random kids futon only to awake 3 hours later.
After that night Sarah 1 added me on Myspace and started asking who I went home with, what parties I'm going to next, etc etc

Also throughout the past couple of weeks I've managed to get a few HBs from my old school who I've been very awkward with in the past to go clubbing and flirted with a few of them (no kiss closes or anything yet but it's come very close) and I've realised that if you just act very casual and like nothing phases you at all then girls see you as fun and utterly unthreatening.
Things I have also learned: If a girl seems to be ignoring you then text/email/whatever once and if she doesn't respond then ignore her back and she'll very quickly cave in, and if not then there's plenty more girls out there so fuck it. Also if you act enthusiastic and happy then people you talk to suddenly become enthusiastic and happy too and like to be around you. Even if you're forcing yourself to be (which seems to end up with you actually becoming genuinely enthusiastic/happy pretty quickly anyway, unless it's a bad audience).

One last thing but possibly the most important that I've learnt: pick up shouldn't be a regimented set of rules where you HAVE to use openers, false time constraints, A1 A2 A3, etc it should be more fun and flowing, as long as you're having fun and you don't give a fuck about your 'count' or how well you're going with one particular girl then it doesn't really matter, so long as you're becoming a better, more attractive, more likeable person in general and you're following at least the fundamentals like kino etc.
Just my opinion though.
